  1. A thriller starring Idris Elba as a negotiator on a plane that gets hijacked. A near 7 hour flight told in real time over 7 episodes. Starts on 28 June.
  2. New show on Apple from 18 February. A stylised workplace thriller. The concept of the "severance" of the title is that people can have their personal and work memories completely divided and kept separate by a surgical procedure. Obviously, things are not quite right with all this. Stars Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman and Michael Chernus. Directed by Ben Stiller.
  3. Apple have nabbed a movie which is under development about Tetris. Rather than some earlier effort which apparently was supposed to be some sort of epic Tetris-based narrative somehow, this seems to be about the game itself, development, gaining popularity and all that. Taron Egerton is playing Henk Rogers, who first secured rights to distribute the game on consoles. Other roles still being finalised. Jon S, Baird, of Stan & Ollie, directing.
  4. An 8 part anthology on Apple TV+ exploring the effect of climate change through interconnected stories from different points of view and at different points in time. Pretty huge cast, with Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Kit Harington, Daveed Diggs, Edward Norton, Diane Lane, Tahar Rahim, Yara Shahidi, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, Adarsh Gourav, Keri Russell, Marion Cotillard, Forest Whitaker, Indira Varma, Tobey Maguire, Hari Nef, Gaz Choudhry, Michael Gandolfini, Heather Graham and Judd Hirsch.
  5. New to Apple TV+ on 17 February. Described as sci-fi dramedy. Set in a sort of 50s retro future world, with some of the main characters being door to door salesmen selling timeshares on the moon. Stars Billy Crudup, Hank Azaria, Alison Pill and Haneefah Wood. The usual Apple release format of 3 episodes on day 1, then weekly episodes.
  6. Apple's new take on A Christmas Carol, set in the present. A musical starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds and Octavia Spencer. This time from the perspective of the Ghost of Christmas Present (Ferrell). Each Christmas Eve the spirits visit a different "Scrooge" and this time it's Clint Briggs (Reynolds). Briggs turns the tables on Present, who ends up examining his own past, present and future. Just a teaser so far. Coming to Apple TV+ on 18th November.
  7. Apple are doing a Time Bandits show. It's been known for a while that it's being worked on, but now it's officially greenlit. Taiki Waititi as executive producer and directing the first 2 (of 10) episodes. Lisa Kudrow as one of the stars. Other cast include Kal-El Tuck (Unseeing Evil), Charlyne Yi (Knocked Up), Tadhg Murphy (Conversations With Friends), Roger Jean Nsengiyumva (You Don’t Know Me), Rune Temte (Eddie the Eagle), Kiera Thompson (Martyrs Lane) and Rachel House (Heartbreak High). https://deadline.com/2022/09/time-bandits-lisa-kudrow-lead-cast-taika-waititi-apple-series-1235129518/
  8. https://deadline.com/2022/01/apple-tv-godzilla-legendary-monsterverse-1234916545/ Apple have done a deal for a live-action TV show which is part of the big-screen Legendary Monsterverse.
  9. Live action Speed Racer show coming to Apple. Don't expect it to be like the Wachowskis movie, which this is unconnected to, apart from the source material. It's apparently going back to the manga and bringing it to life. Main writers and showrunners are from Snowpiercer and Westworld.
  10. Noel Fielding plays Dick Turpin on a new Apple TV show. Show doesn't have a title yet, but there's a couple of pics from it.
  11. Apple's first Korean drama, based on a web comic. 6 episodes, starting 4 November. It's about a genius doctor who has been trying to develop technology to access other people's brains. Then when a personal tragedy occurs, he's trying to access the memories of dead people to discover what happened. Weird shit starts happening.
  12. Matthew Vaughn is helming a big budget spy action movie, based on a novel of the same name, which isn't actually released yet either. He's got a big cast in Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa, Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena and Catherine O’Hara. Lipa will also be providing music. They say there will be at least three movies.
  13. You can now play Lode Runner in a brower window. Sorry (not sorry.) http://loderunnerwebgame.com/game/
