This is Rhythm Doctor: For those who can’t watch YouTube videos: “Rhythm Doctor is a one-button rhythm game where you save patients by hitting your button on the 7th beat. Every patient has a unique rhythmic ailment and their own storylines.” The video also explains the two-player mode and the concept of boss levels. The dev linked me to a “preorder demo” a while ago after I sent a donation (because I had played the browser demo so much and wanted to give back) and to me it feels like a Rhythm Paradise minigame that never existed, and one that has been iterated on enough times to make a whole game out of it. The one-button format sounds like it would get easy, or boring, but the amount of variety on display makes me keen to see what the full game will offer, and trying to complete songs in the demo without making mistakes is pretty challenging. It’s one of the more creative rhythm games I’ve seen, with a number of fun twists on the basic format (although one person’s creative is another person’s “gimmicky”!) Anyway, the Steam page says it’s out next Friday, and the game’s own website says “EARLY ACCESS COMING TO STEAM FEBRUARY 2021“ so I’ve made this little thread in the hope that it doesn’t slip! The website also has a “demo” link but this goes to the original Flash concept. However there’s also an “offline” sampler if you scroll to the end of the itch page. https://rhythmdr.com https://store.steampowered.com/app/774181/ E: I understand it’s also coming to Switch and mobile but those releases will be tweaked slightly due to PC-specific things that probably can’t be done on the other platforms. Insert your “PC is the definitive version!” master race comments below...

The Fugitive is getting another go on TV mobile. Starring Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook. And, it seems, no Richard Kimble. Boyd Holbrook is Mike Ferro, a blue collar worker who gets caught up in an explosion on an LA Metro train. Thanks to faulty evidence and bad, social media focused "journalism", he wrongly becomes the prime suspect. He must prove his innocence and uncover the real perp while Detective Clay Bryce (Sutherland) is on his trail.

The Black Desert mobile game is out now and is surprisingly fun. It's similar but definitely not the same game as the original. More streamlined but with a lot of similar basics. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pearlabyss.blackdesertm.gl https://apps.apple.com/us/app/black-desert-mobile/id1477186880 I'm playing on the EU Balenos server. Family name Worldwalker.

So for the last four years, a sizeable team (including @Anne Summers and myself from Rllmuk) have been working on a retro game streaming platform called Antstream. It lets you play a huge catalogue of retro games, with a single subscription that you can access across multiple devices. Systems supported include everything from the earliest Arcade games through to the best home computers, through to PS1 games - and beyond! Each game on the system has been lovingly curated. We've re-mastered artwork, created control schemes that work across touch controls, keyboards and game pads, and created global and friend leaderboards. For some games, we've even created brand new micro challenges that you can compete against your friends with, from simple score attack trials to more exotic challenges, like boss rushes. The best thing is, every game on the system is fully licensed, so you know that by playing the games, people are actually going to get paid. So after nearly half a decade of work, we're almost ready to break cover. We'll be touring Antstream round several gaming shows in August including Play Expo in London and GamesCom in Cologne, so if you're visiting either of those shows, please come and say hi at our booth. We'll also be announcing our full launch plans really soon. In the meantime though, @Anne Summers and myself will be happy to answer any (well, some) questions here, and if you're interested, we'd love it if you'd like our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/antstreamgames/) and join our mailing list (https://www.antstream.com/mailinglist) - the more interest you guys show the better the licenses we'll get access to. It's a really exciting project, with support from some of the biggest names in gaming, and we'd love to have you help shape what Antstream becomes. Also, there's free cake for anyone who likes our page, and two pieces of cake for anyone who shares it*. Please, let's make this a big success, so that I don't have to go back to writing stories about my terrible dating life. *The cake may be a lie.

Bit of an odd one this. A full and complete F2P mmo that looks really nice, is insanely complicated and packed with systems, has plenty of f2p bullshit but is surprisingly kind on your time. http://l2.netmarble.com/en It's a mmo with full controls. Played isometric. You run around and hit things with your weapon and powers doing basic fetch and kill quests for idiots following a terrible plot. You have full control of your character and indeed that's the most efficient way to play. However. If you want to treat it as a more hands off experience you can set the game to auto quest. You need to interact to kick off quests and collect rewards but otherwise your character will head off and kill orcs all by themselves. They can be even set to grind mobs in a specific area if that's your fetish. Over the levels I've played so far (15) it's introduced me to many, many systems, daily dungeons, tower of insolence, forging, runes and god knows what else. Playing in auto mode it's surprisingly mellow. There's 269 levels so I'm guessing the wall will come at some point but for now it's a nice free distractions.

Is anyone else playing this? It's a surprisingly fun and well made game. Real time battler where you use cards to summon units. Starts off as Cowboys and Indians but eventually opens up into more genres.

Yes it's one of those. F2P. Level and energy based. Feed Donald to Mickey to level him up etc. This one seems slightly more involved. Moving around the maps is real time and combat is turn based. Also it's currently having a 2.0 relaunch and you get shed loads of free stuff to get you started (Including thousands in IAP currency). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.square_enix.android_googleplay.khuxww&hl=en_GB https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kingdom-hearts-union-χ-cross/id1086859120?mt=8 I'm quite enjoying it so far. https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/04/06/kingdom-hearts-union-xcross-goes-live-today/ http://www.kingdomhearts.com/unionx/us/

Quite an old one this but I just got back into it. Classic match 3 gameplay in the style of Puzzles and Dragons. Freely movable gems within a time limit and characters to collect and level up. No timers. You don't have to spend energy to play and can play as much as you like. It plays a video ad after every level but a small IAP purchase disables all that (See the fan area in the game for more details). Rather good fun if you like that sort of thing and the lack of timers is a bonus. Also if you put in this code 5872-4692-5276-7993 you'll get three free characters. Frobisher, Abslom Daak and Shayde (From the comics).
