  2. The rather average PS2 third-person action game series Gungrave is getting another sequel ! In Gungrave G.O.R.E, play the gun-wielding badass anti-hero of your dreams as you mow down tons of enemies in a gory ballet of bullets and experience a story of vengeance, love and loyalty, all in a beautiful third-person action shooter, combining the best that Eastern and Western game design have to offer. As the titular Gunslinger of Resurrection, you become the badass anti-hero Grave, an ultimate killing machine, brutalising your foes without mercy. Taking cover and retreating is not an option for Grave, he only ever goes full steam ahead, preferably right through his enemies. Stylish third-person shooting meets close-range martial arts, creating seamlessly flowing action as you crush your enemies in a gory ballet of bullets. Utilise your unlimited ammo Cerberus pistols and your transformable EVO-coffin to unleash devastating combos in pursuit of maximum damage and style. Strap in for a wild ride, an epic & emotional story of vengeance, love and loyalty, with more than 12 hours of gameplay in the story mode, for Gungrave fans and newcomers alike. Go on an epic adventure across South-East Asia, based on real-life locations with a dark, futuristic twist. Debut trailer: Latest trailer: >> Official website. Releases November 2022.
  3. Klonoa is back!! Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series brings back the 1997 PlayStation original Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and its 2001 sequel Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil remastered in one collection to fans new and old. BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. has decided to release Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series on Nintendo Switch in July 2022 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Klonoa series. It is now possible to set the difficulty level so that even beginners can play easily. • Run and jump while using your Wind Ring to grab and throw your enemies. Adjust the difficulty levels to test your skills. • Enlist a friend in 2 player co-op, if you need help. Early purchase benefits: A costume set where you can change the costumes of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil with each other. Debut trailer: Releases on July 8, 2022. 4. A young witch called Nata de Cotton is hot headed, immature, overreacts and rides on a broomstick, accompanied by a fairy named Silk. Cotton is crazy about certain candies called “willows”. Those candies are so good that she won’t let anything get in her way to get them. Talk about sugar cravings! Multiple Cotton series titles will be coming overseas for the very first time as part of the series' 30th anniversary celebrations! The original adventures of Cotton the witch will soon be making a comeback thanks to ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games. In recognition of the series’ 30th anniversary, both companies will be publishing several of the its earliest entries in the coming months. These include Cotton 100%, which was originally only released on the Super Famicom in Japan; the fabled Panorama Cotton, a pseudo-3D shoot'em-up which called the Sega Mega Drive home (but again, only in Japan), and Cotton & Guardian Force Saturn Tribute. This last one includes three games originally only released in Japan in the arcades and for the Sega Saturn: Cotton 2, Cotton Boomerang and a non-Cotton game known as Guardian Force. The first two games: Cotton 100% and Panorama Cotton will be available through both ININ and Strictly Limited. ININ Games is the place to go for the digital version on the PSN store or Nintendo eShop, while Strictly Limited Games will be offering fans physical limited and collector’s editions. As for Cotton & Guardian Force Saturn Tribute, it will be available as a physical limited or collector’s edition through Strictly Limited Games, while the digital versions will be available on either the PSN store or the Nintendo eShop. That seems to be all Cotton games ever released, apart from the abysmal Dreamcast exclusive Rainbow Cotton. And besides this massive trip down memory lane, Success (the developer behind the series) is releasing two new games in this seminal series as well! Cotton Reboot! being a complete remake of the very first Cotton arcade game for the current gen of consoles, whereas Cotton Rock 'n' Roll will be a completely new title in the series. Cotton Reboot trailer: Cotton Rock 'n' Roll trailer: All games should be available before the end of this year
  5. On October 26 2020, during a development steam celebrating the 40th anniversary of Koei Tecmo president and CEO Kou Shibusawa's career, it was announced that Team Ninja were currently developing a new action game based on Luo Guanzhong's 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The game in question is now known as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and was formally revealed on June 12, 2022 at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase event for release on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, with PlayStation 4 and 5 versions being announced shortly after. A dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within. Development on Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is being led by Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda (who directed Nioh and Nioh 2) and producer Masaaki Yamagiwa (best known for his work on Tokyo Jungle, Déraciné and Bloodborne no less), who joined Team Ninja in October 2021 following his exit from SIE's now-defunct Japan Studio. Like Nioh before, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty takes place during real-life historical events, but is embellished with prominent supernatural elements taken from both folklore and mythology. Debut trailer: Slated for an early 2023 release on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Xbox Series X/S, and pc.
  6. HOT NEWS: New Genesis is out on the 9th June! I'm spoiler tagging everything as it relates to the 'Old' PSO2. If you want to see new shit, check out some footage from Maximillian Dood here:
  7. One of the rarest games in arcade history finally coming to modern consoles! Released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1996, Cannon Dancer, also known as “Osman” in the US, has become an absolute legend in arcade history. After the 90s fighting-game hype declined, the game slowly began to fade out of arcades due to the small number of units. Over the years, the title became a video game legend, with fans around the globe interested in getting their hands on it. Almost 30 years later, ININ Games has teamed up with two key members of the original development team to finally bring the game to modern home consoles: the game designer Kouichi Yotsui (also known as “Isuke” and famous for his work on “Strider”) and the artist Takashi Kogure (better known as “Utata Kiyoshi”). Cannon Dancer is an action game set in a dystopian late 21st century, in which the world is under the control of a single federal government. One day, a new threat known as “Abdullah the Slaver” – an evil sorcerer who wants to take control of the world – appears, causing widespread terror and panic. This fear incites the abandonment of all economic activity and corruption in the government, which now undermines the foundations of society itself. Judicial Affairs Director, Jack Layzon, fears the worst and summons a lone assassin. The player controls a "cannon dancer" called Kirin; a top-class agent in a mercenary unit only known as “Teki”, and a highly skilled martial arts fighter. As he travels, he has to face not only Abdullah the Slaver and the government forces but also the other members of the Teki, who want him dead for personal reasons. Debut trailer: The game will be available as a digital download version for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox for the first time ever, with a planned release in Q1 2023.
  8. So the most blatant Symphony of the Night rip-off is finally coming to consoles Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a 2020 action role-playing video game originally developed by Team Ladybug (the devs behind the not too shabby Touhou Luna Nights btw) and co-published by Playism and Why so serious? (WSS Playground) for Microsoft Windows. It is based on Ryo Mizuno's Record of Lodoss War series, taking place before the events of Diadem of the Covenant. Controlling the High Elf Deedlit, who finds herself in a strange interconnected labyrinth filled with her past foes and companions, the game focuses on exploration and searching for items and power-ups (very much) in vein of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, fighting bosses and minibosses. During gameplay, the player also locates elemental spirits and swap between each one. The idea for Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth came up when Playism was approached by an editor of the eponymous novels and review the source material. Under supervision of Mizuno, Playism decided to go with the project after seeing that both the material and artwork of Team Ladybug went together. The game is not only inspired by Symphony of the Night but also partly by Ikaruga; while both levels and gameplay were designed to reflect its story concept around exploration. Debut trailer: Console release trailer: The title was first launched via Steam Early Access in March 2020 prior to the full version and received several updates through 2020 and 2021. Versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S are slated for a December 2021 launch.
  9. Looks like Monkey Ball is back! Now, whether it's a good Monkey Ball or not remains to be seen. Probably leaked from the Nintendo E3 Direct. Coming to Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbone, and Xbox Series S|X FEATURING THE RETURN OF MONKEY TARGET
  10. Eleven years after its initial release, the trusty 3DS is getting one last hurrah in the form of a Japanese indie shoot'em-up sequel to a genre cult classic from almost three decades ago. T3h hardc0r3. The first Andro Dunos was a side scrolling arcade game in the shoot’em up category. It was originally released almost thirty years ago in 1992 by SNK. Some 29 years have passed since the Earth Defence first called on Yellow Cherry and Red Fox to stop the imminent invasion from an unknown alien race. Many light years away on the edge of our galaxy the threat has reared its ugly head once again and this time they mean business. There’s just one thing to do, dust off the finest Earth Defence ships ever made and send the alien scum packing. It’s apparent that these relics from a war time that was forgotten had seen better days and only one ship -the Yellow Cherry- could be saved using parts from the Red Fox which was critically damaged in the first war. Are you up for the task of saving the earth once more? As the direct sequel to one of the most famous sh'mups from the early 1990s, Andro Dunos II presents you with an epic side-scrolling space journey full of arcade action! Fight and explode hundred of spaceships thanks to various weapons such as laser, hawk, and even powerful homing missiles. You can recover power ups by destroying enemies. Music composed by industry veteran Allister Brimble (Alien Breed, Body Blows, Project-X, Colonization, Driver). Launch trailer: Out now on the 3DS and most other platforms

  12. I'll leave this here. It's out tomorrow, free* on gamepass *It's not free. Does anyone ever say "free on netflix"? No, of course they don't.
  13. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/a-patented-playstation-feature-allows-players-to-pay-to-kick-others-from-games/ Absolutely bonkers. Totally not open to abuse.
  14. A new (old) Net Yaroze title for PlayStation! it's a randomly generated gauntlet style game (real-time rogue-like, if you must) Originally created to beta state in 1998, then shelved/cancelled. Finished in 2020 by another developer under direction of the original developers. interview/history http://netyaroze-europe.com/Media/Magic-Castle download bin/cue https://archive.org/details/magic-castle-2020-23-dec manual https://archive.org/details/mcmanual/ Apparently the end is after level 20. Lots of Easter Eggs. Note: works on PS2 from hard power off; may not work from standby.
  15. https://blog.us.playstation.com/2019/12/06/state-of-play-airs-live-tuesday-december-10/ Not seen this come up yet but I think it's worth a topic. There's "around 20 minutes of new game reveals," which might be mostly indie reveals but then again maybe we'll see Resident Evil 3 remake debuted (as 2 did at Sony's E3). I've not seen it suggested elsewhere but what if Bluepoint finally put us out of our misery and officially unveil whatever they're making (likely Demon Souls please don't lynch me when this wild speculation proves false!). Twitch Youtube I bet there is a topic somewhere but I am not so good with the search function (and by search function I mean using my eyes obviously!) Content was: Untitled Goose Game (release date, December 17th) Spellbreak (3rd person battle royale spell slinger) https://youtu.be/zy0wRL5EQ4I Dreams (release date February 14th) Superliminal (interesting looking first person puzzle game playing with scale and perspective) https://youtu.be/w3PPUqc9rs0 Paper Beast (Eric Chahi VR title, looks like a sandbox sort of puzzle game featuring an eco system of 'paper beasts') https://youtu.be/IltaO0zxD4E Some Kingdom Hearts III dlc (YAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWN!) Predator: Hunting Grounds (Another look at the asynchronous multiplayer game) Babylons Fall (Squeenix / Platinum Games title. Looks like an action RPG with what you'd usually expect from a combat title from Platinum, looked a little influenced by Astral Chain too) https://youtu.be/veow_lvRhfw Resident Evil 3 (Basically that multiplayer game they annnounced a while back is now packaged in with Resident Evil 3) It looked a little ropey to me, but too quick a look to judge fully https://youtu.be/Pvwdy38_vlo Ken Kutaragi giving the queens speech for Playstations 25th anniversary Ghosts of Tsushima (a short teaser concluding that the full trailer will be at the game awards)
  16. labarte

    PS4 Pro

Kotaku are saying that some devs have been talking about an improved playstation: http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/03/18/sources-say-sony-is-working-on-a-ps4-5 It seems unlikely to me, surely 4K gaming would require a really big leap in processing power that would not be economic at the moment, even top end PC gfx cards struggle with it. Interesting all the same. More power would definitely make sense for VR if it takes off.
  17. Are you sad because there's no Sony E3 conference this year? Never fear, I managed to hack into the 'oTheR DimEnSioN' where it did take place and downloaded it. Don't ask how I did it, it's not important. So sit back, relax, and feast your eyeballs, ears and braincell on 1 whole hour of the future of Sony PlayStation's great gaming goodness. These tantalising tasty trailer treats. You get the point. For maximum realism, stay up till 2am Sunday night/Monday morning and then press play. Then go to work in the morning feeling like shite. Get Hype: Don't forget to comment in this thread as you watch the video in real-time for authenticity. Stuff like: "I stayed up till 2am for this?" "Kanye West? Get with the times Sony!" "Looks like a Wii game" "Another fucking HD remaster?!" "WTF is this shit?" "Love the art style of this one" "Sony LOL" "Booooorrrriiiinnnnnngg!" "I've already seen this trailer" "Nintendo has nothing to fear here" "Nathan Drake Gardening Simulator? TAKE ALL MY MONEY!" "Microsoft wins E3 this year!" "That looked interesting I guess" "Arty-Farty Bollocks" "HALF-LIFE 3!!!!??? Crowdfunded? WTF!?" "This will probably end up being a PS5 game" "Shame this was leaked before the event, lol" "I hope this is coming out on Switch" "Where's Knack 3?" "VR showreel? No interest in VR at all. Fuck off Sony! I HATE YOU!!!" "I stayed up till 3am for this?" "Now I know why Sony weren't at E3 this year in this dimension" Etc.

  23. Hi everyone - I'm hoping to garner some opinions on a retro gaming idea, if you would be able to help... I've got a business opportunity focused on gaming (arcade & consoles only at the moment) and one idea I've had to make it a bit more interesting to current and potential gamers is to provide a service a bit like Graze, Pact Coffee, Abel & Cole, etc. The idea is that you can go online, select which consoles you own and subscribe to a service that posts you a different game every month. You can play it and then send it back or you can keep it for an extra fee. So, if you said you had an N64, you might get Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie or Super Smash Brothers for your first 3 months. You could send a couple back and keep one, if you felt so inclined. We would never send out the same game twice and you could cancel with 30 days notice. My questions I'd like to get some opinions on are; - Would you like to get one or more games sent to you every month? - If so, would a cost of £7.99 per month, including return postage, put you off? - Have you heard of anyone else providing this service? If so, what's good and what's bad about what they do? - What would really put you off from signing up? - What would make you sign to the membership package immediately? - If there were other benefits to the subscription, such as small loyalty rewards or exclusive social events, would that be of interest? Thanks for taking the time to respond - I genuinely appreciate all the feedback, good or bad, and will respond to everyone! Mark
  24. For years, I've lived a double life. In the day, I do my job: I ride the bus, roll up my sleeves with the hoi polloi. But at night, I live a life of exhilaration, of missed heartbeats and adrenalin. And, if the truth be known, a life of dubious virtue. I won't deny it - I've been engaged in violence, even indulged in it. I've maimed and killed adversaries - and not merely in self-defence. I've exhibited disregard for life, limb and property, and savoured every moment. You may not think it, to look at me, but I have commanded armies and conquered worlds. And though in achieving these things I've set morality aside, I have no regrets. For though I’ve led a double life, at least I can say: I've lived.
