  1. Update: Now available on 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, PSVita, Xbox One and WiiU OlliOlli is getting some pretty rave reviews - it's been on my radar since late last year, and as a purveyor of great taste, is one of my most anticipated releases of 2014. Its a high score game that revels in getting the player into the zone, and pushing for that one more go. Easy description is Tony Hawks meets Trials. Originally conceived as a mobile title, it was picked up for Vita and given the praise of the controls, it was a probably a wise choice. Out tomorrow for £7.99 or £6.39 for PSPlus members for launch week.

So yeah, my one a year thread is late this time as I've held off getting the current gen versions as I intend to pick this up for PS4 at launch. I know in recent years theres been quite a few people who've enjoyed the series so here we are again. It does seem that the next gen version will be different as they didn't want to do a straight port over from PS3/360/PC. For now we don't know what it entails, we do know that the Path to Greatness mode and possibly Crew Mode won't be in the next gen versions. Seem bizarre to take modes out of a next gen game but hopefully they'll have some other mod
  4. Treble said: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/264955-ps-plus-august/?p=9188168 This thread gets a lot of questions about PS+ subs and I was bored, so here's a basic guide to PlayStation Plus subscription service ((hopefully) correct as of 5th August 2013). First off, here's the official Sony PS Plus Introduction page with a lot of useful info. My take on it all: You can subscribe for 3 months or a year at a time. Standard costs are £11.99 for 3 months or £39.99 for a year. There are often deals around, though, so check the thread (and places like hotukdeals.com) for bargains. GAM
  5. So yes, Music Unlimited will be shuttered on the 25th of March, and in it's place Sony will launch Playstation Music, which sounds like it's essentially going to be a re-skinned Spotify. Read More: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/01/28/playstation-meet-spotify/ Smart move really. Music Unlimited did nothing exceptional in the streaming music space, so why not piggy back on the best service there is. I've enjoyed the ability to stream music through the PS4 though, although I've never actually used Spotify... I'm going to assume that being the biggest, it's also considered the best? It's al
  6. I don't think there's a thread for LBP3 yet, and I think it deserves one. It's one of the games I was looking forward to before I got my PS4, and I picked it up just before Christmas. I'm not that far in, but I'm really enjoying it so far. The single player has already given me several broad grin moments - floating around in space to Tashaki Miyaki's version of I Only Have Eyes for You was magical - the soundtrack is fantastic (Pink Shoelaces would grace any video game) and the building and gameplay tools should lead to some seriously amazing and varied community creations in time. There's a d
  7. Just saw this on my Facebook feed (thanks John!), but couldn't find a topic here. It's just been released and a blistering fast game at 60fps, currently discounted on the PSN Store for plus members. Crossbuy between Vita and PS4. I also saw something about a PS3 version on the PSN store, but can't confirm it's already available and/or any good. I've only played the Vita version just now, which looks excellent. Can't wait to try it out on the big screen tonight. Review here: http://punkandlizard.com/switch-galaxy-ultra-review-ps4ps-vita/

  9. I'm fully aware this game got some love in both the PSN and Vita threads, but I feel it deserves a thread of its own. In my humble opinion, it's easily one the best games of 2012 so far (and my personal fave), but the US press hardly paid any attention to it and developer FuturLab doesn't have the marketing muscle to go up against bigger hitters. They would like to make a dedicated Vita version, but this will only happen if enough people show their support. I'll do my part then. So what is Velocity? Let's watch a trailer first: So it's basically a retro shooter with a couple of wonderful mech
  10. TV TV TV TV TV!!!!! So yes, Sony this morning have talked more about their forthcoming TV streaming service, which they're planning to launch in America around 2015. What's interesting is that they have decided to capitalise on the resurgence of the Playstation brand, and actually put the service under the control of SCE. This is less of a thing for those of us on this side of the pond, but the idea is that it's the first real attempt to break the hold cable companies have over TV distribution in America. The service will be contract free, and instead will ask a monthly subscription to stream
  11. There's a third Final Fantasy 13 on the way. Final Fantasy XIII heroine Lightning will be back in a new game, Square-Enix announced today. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This one is going to be a very different Final Fantasy. Series director Motomu Toriyama began a presentation in Tokyo by showing an image of a rose, saying roses have many meanings. He then said that this game is the conclusion of Lightning's saga. (No, we're not sure what that means either!) Toriyama said Lightning will make her comeback, returning as a stronger character than she was in the first two games, FF XIII

  13. by Trion Worlds defiance.com Release Date: April 2013 ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS I have never heard of the show nor do I plan on actively watching it but the game looks interesting and most of all fun.The overal art style and visuals themselves might not be the terribly original but they're definitely, for lack of a better word, solid. If anything it is nice to see the two mediums co-exist and not have one lag behind the other. I for one am keeping my eye on this. 14. A lacklustre show still managed to deliver some quality content, the highlights of which were: YS Everyone's Golf God Eater 2 New Gundam Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War Yakuza 0 Kingdom Under Fire 2 Disagea 5 Dead or Alive 5 Resident Evil Revelations 2 P5 Dragon Quest: Heroes You can watch a dubbed version of the conference at the U-Stream link below: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sceja-press-conference-english?ftcnt=ps:com_sceja_en Pre-Conference Intro: Neither Nintendo or Microsoft will be hosting a TGS press conference this year.
  15. Press release Developer is Cyanide and publisher is Atlus. No idea at present if this is some sort of cheap and cheerful shallow rip off or will be a genuinely interesting RPG. There was an article in the New York press which stated that GRRM has written the story for this.
  16. Quick recap for those who didn't see the earlier posts in the PS4 thread: Here's the table I compiled from Metacritic's top 20 games on each platform: As I mentioned above, it has slightly more PS3 exclusives than 360 ones, but far more cross-platform games than either. But Metacritic is a rather bland resource, with some questionable decisions in there (I have never understood the critic's love for LittleBigPlanet, for example). So then Pob made a brilliant suggestion: So I did. And here it is. The list contains 324 games. Of those, 158 are listed as having shipped for
  17. Scant details at present. Sounds interesting though. Was there any more information in the conference?
  18. I think Sony really need to have a re-think on their storefront and how it integrates with the dashboard. I know people moaned at the amount of advertising (particulalrly for non-gaming content) on the 360's dash, but one thing it was very effective at doing was showing the new titles that had been added to on-demand or XBLA, as well as sales and offers. The Playstation store on the other hand is hidden away at the end of the navigation, there's little-to-no announcement of new titles or offers anywhere on the dash, and then if you do go and take a look at the store, the new stuff is still hid
  19. I've been on True Achievements for a few years now and I've found it has influenced the way I've played games to some extent. I'm not a huge achievement hunter - down at the bottom of the RLLMUK gamerscore leaderboard - but the site lets you see which achievements others have gained, which look interesting, and encourages you to play games for more than half an hour before consigning them to the 'play more one day' pile. The site includes loads of walkthroughs, guides to finding stuff, and community. The original thread for TA is here: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/191268-true-

Apologies for the delay, but a busy end to the financial year at work plus exciting* family developments have led to somewhat less free time than I was counting on. 22. From Famitsu, via andriasang.com: The second game in Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games' partnership (following Lollipop Chainsaw) has been revealed in this week's Famitsu to be "Killer is Dead". Suda 51 is directing Killer is Dead, but it's not a sequel to Killer 7. The game promises to retain the essence of Killer 7 and No More Heroes, though. It also promises to be a sort of "Dark Side 007" story in that it will feature a number of beautiful Bond Girl-like ladies - hopefully not as carrier pigeons On the gameplay side of things, early reports indicate that the game will have sword
  23. So the "look over there" thing keeps coming up in the Trouble with Nintendo thread, and to be fair, the forum does have a bit of a blindspot. Despite being a company with fingers in many pies, they're in a much worse financial position than Nintendo. Sony have a bunch of loss-making divisions, and like Nintendo before them have just announced a billion dollar loss instead of a predicted full year profit, along with layoffs of another 5,000 staff, making this 30,000 since 2008. Their PC division, including VAIO is being sold off to some investment group, and TV is being restructured and spun o
