    Clarice

With Silence of the Lambs spin-off series Hannibal wrongly cancelled, someone* decided to do Silence of the Lambs spin-off series Clarice, for CBS, based on Clarice Starling pursuing serial killers and sexual predators. Set in 1993, a year after Silence of the Lambs. *Alex Kurtzman https://deadline.com/2020/01/clarice-silence-of-the-lambs-sequel-tv-series-cbs-alex-kurtzman-jenny-lumet-big-commitment-1202828050/
  3. http://deadline.com/2017/07/disenchantment-matt-groening-netflix-animated-comedy-20-episode-order-abbi-jacobson-nat-faxon-eric-andre-voice-cast-1202135218/ Matt Groening is doing a new adult animation on Netflix. Already ordered 20 episodes, in two seasons of 10. Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon and Eric Andre lead the cast, with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding and Lucy Montgomery also voicing. Lots of familiar names from both sides of the Atlantic there. It's set in a crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland with lots of the usual fantasy type races. As usual with Groening, it's being animated by Rough Draft.
  4. I had to make sure I hadn't skipped to April after seeing that name, which is a paper thing I didn't know about. https://deadline.com/2021/01/game-of-thrones-prequel-series-tales-of-dunk-egg-hbo-1234677834/ Turns out Dunk and Egg are Ser Duncan the Tall and Aegon V. Taregaryen, about 90 years before the main show.
  5. I've seen a few trails for this and it seems to be getting decent word of mouth, so could be worth a watch.
  6. CBS want to bring back The Equalizer on TV. With the seemingly unlikely lead of Queen Latifah.
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34711492 Hopefully this will fare better than the movie adaptations.
  8. Just watched this on BBC1. Really enjoyed it, with a bunch of genuine LOLs. I'm a sucker for slapstick so this was right up my street.
  9. https://deadline.com/2020/09/peacemaker-james-gunn-john-cena-dc-hbo-max-tv-1234582582/ Peacemaker, as played by John Cena in The Suicide Squad, is coming to HBO Max. The whole 8-episode first season will be written by James Gunn and several episodes directed by him.
  10. With Gotham ending, Bruno Heller is doing another pre-Batman show, with Danny Cannon. Pennyworth is, of course, about Alfred. He's a former SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work for Thomas Wayne. Set in 60s London. Premium cable network Epix has ordered a 10-episode season.
  11. Alice versus zombie Xenomorphs! Alan Tudyk will star in a SyFy adaptation of the Dark Horse comic. He is Harry, a crash-landed alien who takes on the identity of a small town doctor. Described as a dark, twisted and comedic fish-out-of-water story. Apparently the comic has him solving mysteries and murders.
  12. https://deadline.com/2020/12/alien-series-in-the-works-at-fx-with-fargo-creator-noah-hawley-ridley-scott-in-advance-talks-to-ep-1234654111/ Alien? On my TV? Coming from Noah Hawley, of Fargo and Legion. Will be set on Earth.
  13. http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/simon-pegg-nick-frost-stolen-picture-tuth-seekers-1202668059/ After Slaughterhouse Rulez, the next project from their own Stolen Picture company is Truth Seekers. It's a half-hour comedy-horror series about three paranormal investigators. Each episode will be focused on a different incident. Pegg says it starts off as a parochial little business but becomes something more global. They also mention developing a film about a double act who haven't spoken for decades and reunite one last time. All that makes me think is "It won't be half as good as Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room".
  14. Fox getting another hero show, Black Lightning. It's coming from Greg Berlanti, who apparently thinks working on Supergirl, Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow just isn't enough to keep him occupied.
  15. http://deadline.com/2015/08/prison-break-limited-series-go-sequel-fox-1201493521/ It's been rumoured that it may happen, but now it's official. Back for a 10 episode limited run. Both brothers are confirmed, despite an apparent death. They promise a logical explanation. Though they say much of the straight-to-video finale will just be ignored, which may be a little weird. Other characters will also return, but they're not saying who yet.
  16. Turns out Amazon are doing a TV version of the Saoirse Ronan movie, Hanna. Which came out more years ago than I thought. David Farr, the movie co-writer, is writing this too. Coming in March. I liked the movie and it's odd style. So, for me, this has a lot to live up to.
  17. Reeves and Pattinson's The Batman is getting a TV spin-off based on Gotham City Police Department. Not yet titled, but some are calling it Gotham Central. The series will be written by Terence Winter, of The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire and Vinyl. Sound's like a more serious affair than the madness of the previous GCPD show, Gotham. Also separate from the Batman-adjacent Arrowverse, the DCEU movies and the pre-Batman Pennyworth which are still on the go. Enough Batman universes?
  18. Do we really not have a topic for this show? I couldn't find anything using the forum search. For those who might know nothing about John Oliver or the show it can probably be summed up like this: John Oliver, a comedian who cut his teeth on 'The Daily Show with John Stewart', hosts a news based entertainment series on HBO. The first season had some amazing stuff going on, can't help thinking of those poor space geckos, and the new second season is going strong too. Last night's episode on the tobacco industry was great, really highlighted some stuff I didn't know about and 'Jeff' the mascot is hilarious. Other highlights from the first season include longer segments like these: FIFA and the World Cup Eurovision As well as shorter focussed pieces like these: How is this still a thing? Ayn Rand Tony Abbot - President of the USA of Australia It's quite amazing that most of the episodes and some web exclusive stuff is all on YouTube. I've included a link for the lazy here.
  19. Beano are bringing Dennis the Menace to TV in live action. It's supposed to be a bit darker, with Dennis, about 16, in and out of trouble with the police. The tone is supposed to be similar to Skins. They're looking to reimagine other characters too.
  20. Apparently Elizabeth Moss is one of the female cops in s2. Quite happy with that.
  21. The follow-up to The Haunting of Hill House The Haunting of Bly Manor is set in 80s England. Some actors returning in different roles. Coming on 9 October.
  22. I've always liked the 80s movie based on the book of the same name and now National Geographic are making a series of it with Appian Way, DiCaprio's company. They are planning on it being multiple seasons, covering from the test pilots to the Moon landing. They're saying a mission for each season, which I assume means the overall Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions.
  23. Netflix show based on a 1959 Shirley Jackson gothic horror novel, but with the plot updated. Coming on 12 October. Created and directed by Mike Flanagan, of Oculus and Gerald's Game. It's about a group of siblings who lived in what would later become the most famous haunted house in the country. As adults they are brought back together and must face the ghosts of their past (cliche alert).

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan have made an origin story for Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest. Regular collaborator Sarah Paulson in the title role. Comes to Netflix on 18 September. A few other familiar faces in there, like Cynthia Nixon, Sharon Stone, Judy Davis, Jon Jon Briones, Corey Stoll and Vincent D’Onofrio, among others.
  25. David Gordon Green is bringing Smokey & The Bandit to the small screen. He revived Halloween and produced Eastbound and Down and The Righteous Gemstones.
