  1. After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before. Don’t fear the unknown. Attack it. Ghostwire: Tokyo is an action-adventure video game played from a first-person perspective. The player can use various psychic and paranormal abilities to defeat the ghosts and spirits haunting Tokyo. Combat director Shinichiro Hara described the combat as "karate meets magic", as the player character utilizes hand movements inspired by Kuji-kiri hand gestures to cast spells. When an enemy loses most of their health, its core is exposed and the player can use takedown moves to destroy it, killing the spirit. GhostWire: Tokyo is the newest title by Tango Gameworks, the developer behind The Evil Within. The game was first revealed during Bethesda’s 2019 E3 press conference. Tango Gameworks is known for its work in the horror game genre and while this game definitely seems to have some spooky vibes, Tango notes that this is more of an action-adventure game. Official reveal trailer: Announced exclusively for PS5.
  2. I'm not a massive fan of Seinfeld but I am a big fan of pixel art. More info https://www.seinfeldgame.com/ Article here with some of the pixel art. https://www.ign.com/articles/seinfeld-adventure-inside-the-game-about-nothing? It will probably come to nothing but that pixel art amirite?
  3. A new Zelda game is coming to Switch. Twenty six (!!) years after its original release on Game Boy, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening will be reborn as a new experience on Nintendo Switch. Buffeted by a storm, Link washes ashore on the mysterious Koholint Island. In order to return home, Link must overcome challenging dungeons and battle against fearsome monsters. So, unlike most other games in the series, it isn't set in Hyrule, but rather the mystical Koholint Island. After Link washes ashore the island, he can only escape by retrieving eight magical instruments and waking the isle's mystical guardian, the Wind Fish. This new version of the classic adventure includes many unique elements that appeared in the original Game Boy release, such as 2D platformer-style rooms and appearances from characters outside of The Legend of Zelda series. Screenshots: Debut trailer: E3 2019 trailer: Out this September.
  4. If you're a fan of Size Five Games' Ben There, Dan That and Time Gentlemen, Please! (and if you're not what is wrong with you), you'll be please to hear a followup is coming! https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-04-03-swindle-devs-ben-and-dan-adventures-will-continue-in-new-game-lair-of-the-clockwork-god There's more info on Steam, and it'll be out in August. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1060600/Lair_of_the_Clockwork_God/ Dan (as in, the real Dan) was also part of an EGX Rezzed session on adventure games this afternoon, which includes him talking about it a bit but it's interesting if you're into the genre at all besides that:

  6. By Infinite Fall Official Site | Steam | GoG | PS4 Release date: February 21, 2017 ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS If you're like me and like your games to be short and sweet or 'all killer, no filler' then Night in the Woods seems like another... winner! I've been enjoying these narrative focused games a lot as of late and titles like Life is Strange, Oxenfree, Inside, Kentucky Route Zero, Firewatch, etc all do a terrific job of telling a story without being self indulgent* or having to rely on padding to increase their play time. That being said I do feel like some of these games are a bit too pricey though. This is currently €20 on Steam which I feel is a bit too high considering it will most likely be a 4 to 6 hour game. Then again it might very well end up being worth every penny so who knows. I hope we'll get some reviews soon as it does look very promising. *This does not apply to Dear Esther as even though I was a fan of that game I think we can all agree that its writing was kind of taking the piss, to say the least.
  7. RPS bought my attention to this silly game. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/01/08/yorkshire-gubbins-comedy-adventure-game/ It's an game set in Yorkshire! There's a demo here called Verb School https://ayerobot.com/ and a prequel episode here at https://gamejolt.com/games/holy-molluscamony/256729/download/build/515073 I've only played the tutorial Verb School so far. Stick with it, at least until you enter the Door of Doom.
  8. By Cyan Inc. Official Site | Steam | GoG | Humble Release Date: August 24, 2016 ABOUT IMAGES VIDEOS Two minutes of GB's quick look was enough for me to add it to my wish list. Looks really interesting! I never managed to finish Riven myself as I was still young and dumb (much more so than I am now lolol) but have always been very much intrigued by its world and design. Riven is one of the very few games which actually made me feel like I was exploring an alien world and Obduction is looking to capture that same feeling as well. I mean there's FMV and you can even change your movement from 'free roam' to point and motherfuckin' click in the options menu!
  9. Renowned Explorers: International Society is a strategy adventure game set in the 19th century. Take command of a hand-picked group of diverse explorers and travel across the globe in search of legendary treasures while staying ahead of your rivals. Earn prestige in the Renowned Explorers International Society and become the world's most Renowned Explorer! Screenshots: Reviews from the Steam Store Page: I just got this last week and played it a couple of times, it's way more fun than I anticipated (to be fair, I had never heard of it before my first play). Anyone else got this? What are your thoughts, you got any advice, etc etc.? I play on easy and still sometimes lose, ugh
