Seems like it's all the rage these days in the Creative Design folder, so I was just wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on my portfolio website.

http://www.jamesmarijeanne.com

Also, a question:

Do most people put a copy of their CV on their portfolio websites, or do they let their portfolio do all the talking, and just put up contact details for a company to request more information, etc.? I havent got a clue about these kinds of things.

Thanks in advance.

Really nice, really clean, really like it.

Yeah, nice and clean, doesn't try to install a stupid flash plug in, or use loads of images for text, or confuse me with a wacky layout.

Its not instantly annoying, so its in the top 5% of all websites )

I want to click on the thumbnail pictures in your portfolio though!

Yeah nice site. I just watched Airmail (which took aaaaaaages to download). Well worth it though, it was really entertaining and looked pretty unique.

Are you spunkymonkey, by any chance?  It's just this:

Is very impressive but seems familiar...!

Lol, he got that idea from me!

I put up a picture from this animation ages ago and he PMed me asking how I did it.

He then used the same technique for his Skate Set Radio thing.

It's a bit narrow isn't it? Increase the width!

Yeah, it does look quite narrow on my 1440x1050 monitor, but alot of people may till only be using 1024x768, which just about fits. I guess those in the industry would be running on super-high resolutions though, so maybe you're right.

As for the other comments, thanks alot guys.

What about a CV though? Should a CV be up there to view/download, or is it not so important?

Ah, he didn't actually credit you I don't think!

I just spent ages watching bits and reading all about your airmail animation. It's so good!

About your website, the only thing I would change is the graffiti style font you use for headers and that, everything else is just so clean. But that's only a minor niggle, if you're happy with then leave it. Great work.

About the CV bit, I would put an online CV up there, keeping the same layout and style as your site, but then have an option for a downloadable PDF, or a printable version.

I really like it matey. The first thing that popped into my head when the page loaded up was "Yum". It all just blends together nicely.

IMO the text should be slightly larger, but that's just me.

i dont know the small text is nice, seems very balanced.

very simple and elegant in my opinion

:D

You dare argue with me?

I'm going to eat your face.

;)

Nice site James!

One remark, the popup windows get blocked for me, maybe more people have the same problem.

It's on this page,

http://www.jamesmarijeanne.com/portfolio.html

when you click the "View brief" links (referencing javascript:newWindow2() )

Do you have dutch roots or something btw, Marije and Anne are both names for girls in the Netherlands :o

Ah, good point about the small popup windows, I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I'll change it to open in a full (seperate) window or somthing. Cheers for that.

As for the name, its actually supposed to be spelt Mariejeanne, with an 'e' after the 'i' but theres a long and completely uninteresting story behind why I dont spell it that way. And its actually a french name. But I'm not french either.... :(
