Trauma Center

.::: Still loving it, although it got set aside because of more pressing work. I wouldn't want to part with it though. This one's a keeper.

That's good to hear. My copies of Animal Crossing should arrive tomorrow so that'll keep me busy a bit but I don't intend on playing it all the time, and now that Phoenix Wright is coming to a close I need something to fill the void. Man, I'm going to miss that game. Such a shame there's not much replay value in it.

Oooh, I've been playing MarioKart DS at work and I think I may need to get that. My lunch breaks have been taken up with multiplayer MarioKart but as I don't have a copy then we're restricted to the tracks.

It's just too hard for me. I prefer a more laid back game and Trauma Centre is just too tense for me as you rush to patch up the patient before they die. It not helped by the nurse continually interupting either. But I'll probably go back to it after finishing Phoenix Wright.

Today I decided to try the stage I was stuck on again, and surprisingly I managed to do it! But, alas, I'm stuck once again.

In the first part of the Africa stuff, how do you save that boy who has all those weird thorns in him, they keep re-appearing everytime I pull them out. Any suggestions?

Did multiple aneurisms in bed last night on my 3rd go! (albeit after reading the advice here!)

Just make sure when like 4 of them pop up, activate healing touch. Syringe the brown stuff into as many as possible so they don't pop, get rid of one of them, syringe the remaining ones so they don't pop, take out a second aneurism and so on. Oh yeah, keep pumping the green recovery stuff into them whenever you have to or whenever you get a chance. It's vital. If one of them rupture, then go straight there and sort it out.

Hope that helps a bit!

Well ... near the end you might probably say it gets a tad frustrating. =)

In the very last mission there isnt really room for any more than one slight mistake, which has to be instantly corrected, if you get two problems at once, youre doomed, even if its 1 second left from finishing the mission.

But on a whole i think this might be my second favourite DS game after Yoshi, and i have a few DS games ...

Ill just have to see if the challenge levels will keep me going back to the game or not.

Got this yesterday and while i didnt think it was great at first (felt fiddly and didnt know what to do) its really rather excellent, the story is nothing to write home about but is enjoyable enough, graphics really nicely done, graphic, but not gory. Up to 2-4 i think, the one with the guy who keeps getting all them lumps on his stomach, having some troubles with it, mainly because you have to zoom in and out or you miss some of the ones off camera.

I love the music, and how it'll suddenly go all dramatic when something unexpected occurs.

The 'I want to die' operation was brilliant, it was a real WHAT THE? moment and when you finish it im sorry to say i laughed when i saw the girl. How she looked and what she said was just so, REAL, in thats just how you would imagine her to look and act. Brilliant.

i must say i really liked the glass in the heart one before, that was brilliantly done.

Yes, there's something about plucking out those pieces of glass that's especially satisfying.

Very true.

Now I've got less time to spend on home consoles, what with being a dad now and all, I'm finding myself missing this game quite a bit. Sure, it was frustrating, but I'd like to go back to it and beat those levels that got the better of me in the end.

Where would be the best place to get a cheap copy, or is anyone selling?

NB I noticed that Play-Asia have that other doctor sim on the cheap at the mo, but I'm unsure of the language barrier...

This is great, story is a bit meh to be honest, id much prefer having some more normal operations to do than this whole guilt thingie, but for some reason the story keeps me gripped, i think its because of the way the story works, with the game sandwiched between each bit of story.

Really liking the other little mini games included too, really nice! Still cant work out what he is doing with his hand though when he says 'lets operate'.

I've had this a few days now but I've only just started to play it properly- it's fucking great though! A really novel game, something you couldn't see on any other console - for that reason alone it's an essential purchase.

Agreed.  I'd appreciate a little less mid-operation chitchat, too - particularly in Challenge mode.

I totally agree with this, it's annoying replaying through the levels with the nurse teaching you how to remove shards of glass again. Because of this there isn't really any scope for doing the ops really quickly, which is a shame.
