I dont have a DS, I'll wait for the wii to come out. But I do like the sound of it! Or bugger it I may just go get a ds instead.

Get a DS with this, Ouendan, Mario Bros, Castlevania and Phoenix Wright. You won't need any other games for the rest of the year.

Sorry to keep wandering OT a bit, but do you think I'm better off looking on eBay etc or just going straight for a proper shop type purchase?

I'm not too sure. I got mine on ebay, but it was a good while ago. Try the bargains folder.

If your after some cheap new DS games try Movietyme. They're American, but are a lot cheaper than most other places for DS games.

Games I recommend:

New Mario Bros

Brain Age

Mario Kart

Metroid Prime Hunters

Mario and Luigi 2

Advance Wars DS

Animal Crossing

Polarium

Trauma Centre

Kirby

Meteos

Ouendan (Best game of last year IMO)

Back on topic:

I've had this game since it's US release, but played it up to chapter 2-1 where I got stuck. I then got Ouendan and only recently tried getting back into this. No matter what I do, though, I can't do 2-1. I get what I have to do but when it comes to using suction to remove the thrombi, I always fail. Even though I have the suction right over the incision, it doesn't seem to remove anything. I realise I'm probably missing something dead simple, but what?

You have to drag the stylus up the tube, emulating the action of sucking up the liquid.

No, I've done that. It stil doesn't work. Do you have to be exactly over the opening? I think I am, but it still doesn't work.

1) Place stylus on syringe (doesn't really matter where)

2) While stylus is on syringe, drag it upwards until syringe is full.

3) Repeat if necessary to fill to the top.

I can't imagine what you're doing wrong!

I ended up trading this game in, it just didn't grab me enough in the end, and there were loads of little bits and pieces that bugged the hell outta me. It's a good idea but they definetely need to change some things for the Wii version.

The only thing I can think of is that you're not bringing the stylus off the screen. When you place the tube over the wound, you can let go of the screen and it's still there. Just tap the bottom of the tube and drag it up. You should see the blood/gunk get sucked in. When you hit the top of the screen, just bring the stylus off the screen again, back to the bottom of the tube and repeat the action until the wound is clear.

Are you sure you're not touching the syringe icon, instead?

No, I'm not using the syringe. I just had another go and I'm doing exactly what you said (Put the suction over the wound, put the stulus on the bottom of the tube and move up to the top of the screen) and it's still not working. I never had this problem on any of the other missions.

Ah well. New Super Mario Bros beckons.

this just hasn't grabbed me either. Got it the weekend it came out, enjoyed it for a couple of hours then also hit a brick wall on one particular operation.

Tried it about 20 times and gave up, not been back to it since.

Too much other good stuff out at the moment to persevere with this, mines getting traded this week as well.

  • 5 weeks later...

I played some of this at the weekend, had I been a bit more sober and not in the company of others I would have played it all night. But so far Ive only done the first operation where you have to get the glass out of the patients arm and suture it back up. I was thinking I had to be very precise with the stylus and so it was taking me a bit of time to stitch him up but I soon realised at this stage you can just be fairly rough with the suturing and just get on with it.

I found the opening a bit slow though all the talking from the bloody nurse but I guess it has to be that way otherwise you'll have no idea what you're doing.

You can always skip the talking.

The game gets pretty intense (and by intense I mean hard) later on.

Yeah I did wonder if I could skip it, but then I guess I need it to know what Im doing..otherwise I'll kill the patient off. That wouldnt be good!!

I bet it does get bloody hard later on. Still, being a medical professional I'll be fine haha

Exactly the same story with me :(

Although I never trade in DS games.

Is it the "Awakening" one, with the annoying aneurisms? That's where I'm stuck, and I must have failed it 50 times by now. But I still really like the game, for some reason...

I've never got past the level with the replicating triangles.

I was really enjoying the game up until all that GUILT shit kicked off. In fact, I was having so much fun, that i still love the game, in spite of my annoyance at the GUILT levels. I'd have bought it for the level with the massive shard of glass in the dude's heart alone.

The replicating triangles wasn't *that* hard. The difficulty really ramps the fuck up though. I find you have to inject the green syrum ever 4 seconds or something stupid like that. Also Healing Touch is so important later on. Just flicking it on when it gets too much, so you can buy yourself some time.

Personally, I found the bomb level particularly hardcore. That one took me FOREVER.

Did I already say that I love this game? Yes? Good.

o/\o - \o/

It's one of the best DS games so far imo although I've not played Oedan (yet)!

Shit forgot to charge my DS again no Trauma Center for me on the way home :)

I am stuck on the 5 opps in 10 mins one at the moment!

great game but very random difficulty from opp to opp.

.::: To make it a bit less stressful: you don't need to save them all. At the end of the third help will arrive and you can finish the third (or fourth) without any time-constraints.

I just cleared that one - it is a bastard I managed 4 apparently if you get to the 5th you get special boss GUILT! Now stuck on the next one although it looks like there's a branching piece of story as the location changed after a failed!
