In similar news, aren't puppies ugly these days. Don't you just hate pizza?

Played through it again recently and was surprised how much of a game is there; took like 17 hours to beat.

Making this post does conjure scenes of Leon walking into the setting of villagers chasing down him down with their pitchforks.

I got it on release too - and it arrived the day before I was due to move

to Australia. The next day I packed my Gamecube and took my projector in my hand luggage. On landing in Sydney I dumped my bags and rather than go see the Opera House or the Sydney Harbour Bridge, I went out to buy a reasonably priced sound system and 2-3 hours later was sat in my (temporary) serviced apartment with all blinds/windows shut playing it projected 3m across the wall. To this day it's the single most joyous day of gaming I think I have ever had.

.... so basically my experience was the complete opposite.

Since then I have played through this game more times than I can count, on every system it's been released on. I can't wait for this remake! 🙂

Just finished this in VR and it really shows how well put together this thing really is that it felt fresh and flab-free after all these years; easily the best version of it as well, the feeling of being surrounded at the end vs the first encounter makes you feel like John Wick. I really hope Capcom had a good look at this or Village VR is going to feel like a step backwards in terms of how you interact with your gear.

In general RE4 is just a great fit for vr cause of those 'rush' sections, which Village does also try to emulate in its opening section

That said, RE4 VR kinda sucked when it came to the big enemies which clearly were not designed for a VR player's mobility at all. You can just strafe around them and the encounter is trivialised

On the other hand, the gatling gun enemies are now actually fun to interact with cause you can take cover and blind fire, or chuck a grenade in a direction opposite to what you're directly looking at

I don't think it was a shit game ftr; obviously brought a brilliant sense of modernity to the series. I was thinking earlier, I did like bits like taking out those fuckers in the lab, that was cool, and the lake boss was awesome.

I'll play the remake when it's like £20, did so with Resi 2 and proper enjoyed it. Although tbh, I glitched the fucker somehow because Mr. X wasn't about for the entirety of my original play through which made it a bit of a surprise playing it after.
