Played again tonigth in the vain hope the connection problems were a first night only glitch. Nope. Just as bad. Maybe one game in twenty or so attempts.

I think something must have been lost in the translation when Capcom found out the most successful Live Arcade game used twin sticks and decided to put that feature into SF2.

Anyone else been sent an abusive message or been left negative feedback by a player they have just beaten?

During a match last night I'm sure I could hear the guy at the other end crying - I didn't say anything as I dont play with voice comms, but won both rounds easily.

Five mins later and I get a voice message calling me a Hacker and a cheat from the same player - my feedback has gone down for "Quitting early" as well!

I found it quite funny to be honest and have ignored it. There seems to be some very aggressive gamers out there!

Had some timeout issues, but then changed to custom match and found that if I picked opponents with a ping rating of 2/4 or lower it worked perfectly everytime :)

I've had much more success(and less thumb pain) with the analogue stick, wouldn't it be amazing if you could twist the analogue stick 90 degrees and it locked into a little clicky stick like on the neo geo pocket with minimal movement.

Yep I got left negative feedback for 'trash talking' by a charming young American yesterday which was quite impressive considering I didn't even speak during the match. He was going nuts because apparently I was using 'illegal' moves, although his tactic of standing in the corner spamming fireballs must have been Queensbury Rules.

The fact he had a 17,000+ gamerscore and only 3 stars should have warned me really.

im amazed no one remembers how to play it. iv been called a hacker because of a red fireball (random glitch), because of vega crawling on the back of his own stage for his barcelona dive. got a load of abuse of some weird londoner calling me chocoRAT instead of cat...i cant stand a london accent giving me abuse.

You're forgetting that most people playing it will have never played it before. Probably started with games like alpha 3 and third strike.

Does anyone else think the red fireballs are comming more often in this version than they used to?

No. 95% of the matches I've played have been Ken vs. Ken and most of the rest have been Ken vs. Ryu, and I've only seen two, IIRC.

There is an exploit.

I was playing this fella, and beat him. Right after I killed him on the second round, before the "You Win" announcement, he left the match. It was not recorded as a victory for me or defeat for him. I know as I was tracking my status.

Meaning that ranked matches are pretty much useless now.

I downloaded the 720p trailer for Mel Gibson's Apocalyptico (sp?) from US Marketplace a few days ago and it was practically unwatchable. ^_^ However most other 720p trailers have been perfect. Perhaps MS QA is not testing these videos in all display modes before allowing them up on Marketplace.

To be fair to Microsoft, I heard Mel was pretty pissed up when he cut the trailer.

I play trailers in 720p too and always get mad slowdown on trailers if you click the Play Now button immediately after downloading. It doesn't seem to slow down when you go into the video menu and play it from there.

Just had a few games using the DOA Hori arcade stick which works really well with this.

Maybe a better bet if you don't get on with the pad?

If it works really well with SF2, then it looks like I'll have to get one. I checked the webiste of a gameshop and it's 70 euros, that's fucking expensive. But I really need one for this.

Last night my opponent quit during the screen showing the winner and the beat-up loser after the match ("seeing you in action is a joke") and my victory was still not recorded even though the match was already over. ^_^

Edit: On the plus side, it seems that there's mostly good players left now. Yesterday I was winning almost every match, now I'm losing almost every match. Beautiful, I love this game. It means that I must simply do better.

With the big dashboard update they also updated the video codec. By updated I mean completely bollocked.

The feedback system is a bit crap really. I put myself in the recreation zone and I was playing someone on Table Tennis the other night but I really did have to leave the game early. The player gave me quit early feedback! I don't think quit early feedback should apply for the less competetive zones.

Did you tell him you had to go, or did you send a message?

It's shocking that the quitters are not being punished.

It's a problem in every live game since it's inception and yet games are still released with it being ignored. Are they fucking stupid, or do they just not care?

They have your money.

Anyone know what causes 720p video stuttering issues anyway? Poorly encoded videos that exceed the 360's software HD decoding capabilities? It's understandable that background downloading will cause almost all 720p video playback to stutter, but there should be no stuttering when the 360 is otherwise idle. Or is it because I'm running through VGA...

I was downloading stuff in the background actually - I suppose that's what it was in my case.

Er... hadoken!

800 points is too much for the game in my eyes. Yes, I paid 1200 for GRAW content. I wanted that more OK?

Keep getting feedback for unsporting conduct nearly every time I win. Quite ridiculous.

I had some guy last night send me "Pussy" when I beat him. I replied with "Why? Because I beat you? Grow up", and he responded that he'd reported me for quitting early as I was losing.

*boggle*

Dead Rising demo available at 11am! :)

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=66484

Capcom informs us that the Dead Rising demo is due to go live on Xbox Live Marketplace this morning at 11am BST.

According to a Capcom spokesperson, play is limited to 15 minutes in one section of the mall. We don't know anything else, like file-size, but we thought we'd let you know anyway. We'll update this item will full details just after 11 (when you'll also notice a slight dip in productivity).

Dead Rising is due out in the States on August 8th, and should be with us here in Europe on September 8th. It's Capcom's first big Xbox 360 exclusive, providing you don't count Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting for Xbox Live Arcade, and if you do then well it's the second isn't it you silly person.

The full game has had one review so far in American mag EGM, and it's a bit disappointing: 7.5, 7.0, 8.0

I'm still hopeful.
