I've gotta question the sanity of someone in 6/9 Tier 3 who's moaning about Naxxramas - seriously, it's rubber-room stuff...

If you want to do something else - brilliant, I'm really really glad you're enjoying the game - but pop a note into the Taking a Break forum or something just so people know what's going on...

That said - I took a 2 week break about 2 months ago - time to update my lack of availabilty - I'm still getting a tonne of pots from the guild bank every few days too ;)

If we collectively get the job done - which we consistently have - then at what point is your class breaking, or failing anything other than to meet your own (ridiculous) expectations?

We have two other shamans unavailable this week and two raids have been cancelled now because of a borderline shortage of healers, and you think it's a good time to slink off to fanny about with your loladin without so much as a 'see you in a bit when I feel more inclined'? It's not like no-one knows that you're still playing all evening; 30 seconds in guild chat to explain your position wouldn't hurt much, would it? It's just common courtesy.

As I've already said I've signed for the next few raids, so I dont see what the problem is now. I just logged on with my shaman, and no-one said anything about my lack of raiding at all.

People weren't best pleased last night though, as we stood around outside Naxx with 13-14 healers (once Oldboy came online) and decided to call it off. One more would've made the difference, so that's all people see atm.

I guess having a documented break is something understandable. I needed a night off, I posted telling how crappy I was feeling and that was that - I don't think anyone held that against me even though that raid was cancelled, too. Had I however not said a word, not signed up and gone to play my other lvl 60 alt when my presence could've meant the raid going ahead well.. people might have felt a bit.. out of the loop and shafted :\

Just wanted to remind you that not everything in life comes with an instruction manual, not everything in life will be explained to you in detail and not everything in life will be debriefed afterwards.

I feel I also need to highlight that not everything in your life is intended as a personal affront to you either - sometimes you're just in the shrapnel radius or you step in someone else's dogshit.

Sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches, think before you drink before you drive and always look on the bright side of life whilst surviving like the fittest and hanging tough!

If any of this makes no sense - tough, you're on your own in this big wide universe - but play it like you mean it cos there's no replays on this credit.

TTFN!!

Well while you lot were emoing and cancelling raids, I finally got to see the joys of a nice Blackwing Lair one-shot. It's strange seeing how things are done elsewhere when you're so used to different tactics and positioning throughout an instance but despite some quirks, there was no arguing with seeing Razorgore, bane of Kay, Cow and my Swiped existance, get quickly and efficiently killed with nary a trouble at all. Everything else followed in a similar fashion, with only the lack of mages (2) posing a minor problem in the later stages.

Tonight, Skeram - the terrible Twins. I'm rather looking forward to it.

I'm teasing, you miserable sod! A light hearted, throwaway comment to relieve the tension of the ongoing Khaz Saga!

You have to admit though, you lot don't half go on lately. The Shamanic Duo vs you & Gramme on here, Azi & Gro in game...listening to you all gives something of a 'Brookside on Azeroth' impression. Fortunately, Kay seems to have enough enthusiasm and positivity to spare for everyone.

Giev more epic boss battle tales! Or, to paraphrase a robot dinosaur, me love Gramme's war stories.

I have no war stories left in me - I formed a raid group and took on the might Khaz instance and I've been drained and left for dead whilst he still has all the loot :)

It's actually quite ironic that almost all our Emo is on here and NOT on the guild forum tho - there was one bit of Emo there (courtesy of Khaz) but apart from that...

Why don't you take it over to your guild forum then? If you can't, then how about sending Mr Ben a PM instead of picking on him out in the open.

11k to go, children! I'm nearly there! The frostwolf will be mine tonight.*

*except I can't bear sitting on the little chair out back in front of my old PC anymore. Yes I am playing Alterac Valley at work. Yes that is very naughty of me. Yes I'm very bad bad bad.

And clearly going absolutely insane. I know how you feel, I did the same about a month ago.

It's no fun on the guild forum. In fact, it'd be bordering on the 'unprofessional' there. At least here everyone knows where we all stand, and the other non-Chimaera Draenorians get to join in too.

I'm sorry if it clogs the forum sometimes... can you just 'bleep' over the bits that you can't be bothered with? <_<

With any break in a high end raid guild, you should let everyone know really. I think Benn is in the wrong and that if you don't address stuff like this yourself and properly, you just end up causing resentment.

I mean, Benn, you've mentioned that sometimes everyone ignores you in guild chat or whatever, but do you really ever think there is some kind of connection between that and the way you behave/attitude, looking at it in the longer term? Sort of like a cause and effect thing?

Also, the thing is that all these frustrations appear very small and stupid when you are outside of them and have some perspective. When you are neck deep in the situation, things can seem very immediate and problematic.

I believe the main problem with Benn's situation is that he plays too much. When he ends up in a bad situation he just moves on. I would say that in a years time if he decides to raid with Adept (from BC on say), you'll have similar problems arise. It's not the end of the world though.

Anyone see the Shaman nerfs in the latest BC beta. Not altogether bad though - the 15% threat reduction will be a godsend.

Can I just clarify something here before it's taken as gospel outside the guild? Benn isn't ignored, or certainly no more than anyone else is. Certainly when we raid plenty of people put forward tactical suggestions etc, but >80% of the time these suggestions are not acted upon because it's not necessary to do so. Our raid leaders, whatever their other faults, are usually spot on with tactics etc. It's only in the implementation that we fall down... <_<

He *could* do with being a bit more happy-go-lucky in /g during non-raiding hours, however. The chat is usually pretty light-hearted and amusing. Particularly when I'm online, obviously.

Yes I should have said something. I am in the wrong there.

I dont put out any sort of attitude that I know of, I've tried to socialise in all the chat, its not up to me if they dont respond to any of it. End of the day, the game has a large social aspect to it, and if thats lacking, well, thats a large part of the enjoyment lost really.

And I'm not moving on. I'm just going to cut down on raiding a bit (as in not raid every single night). I wont be raiding with Adept, I'm a social member only.

What nerfs btw? And the threat reduction had better be in the enhancement tree.

They've reduced talents from 2/4/6/8/10% to hit to just 2/4/6%. Yeah reduced threat is part of parry now and called Spiritual Weapons or something. They've also cleaned up the bottom of the enh tree.

You already have reduced threat in the Resto tree... <_<

I think at 70 I'll be 0/42/19 or something like that.

Hmm, I guess the 10% wasnt needed as theres +hit on enough weapons out there probably. Nice to see theyve made parry more wanted anyway.

Nope it's because they were doing stupid amounts of damage. You need like 24% of hit to stop seeing a benefit when Dual Wielding rememeber. You can still get 9% from talents. It's not a huge thing. The itemisation seems to be great so far for enh Shaman. With 19 points in Resto I can be ok at backup healing.

New values @70 btw:

Weaponskill - 3.9 : 1

Defense - 2.4 : 1

Dodge - 18.9 : 1%

Parry - 31.5 : 1%

Block - 7.9 : 1%

Hit - 15.8 : 1%

Spell Hit - 12.6 : 1%

Crit - 22.1 : 1%

Spell Crit - 22.1 : 1%

Haste - 15.8 : 1% Haste

I think I'm going to stop doing PUG instances. Especially at low level. I havent had a good experience in ages (not since Zul'Farrak with my priest main a good long while ago).

I started a warrior recently, just to see what one was like. I know the "theory" behind tanking, and went into RFC with a group which consisted of Shaman/Priest/Hunter/Rogue.

The hunter pulled everything with no warning to anyone else (ok for single mobs, not so good when there are 3 of them), they ignored me asking for a minute to sort my toolbar out, the shaman (over)healed me the INSTANT I took damage, and they all ignored my requests to let me build up aggro on groups of mobs before they started taking them out. At level 15, you hardly have lots of options to get aggro fast, especially from a rogue spamming sinister strike, and an overhealing shaman, and no crowd control methods either, I could keep the aggro of one mob fine, two at a push, but three was too many. No-one listened to me, instead I got called a noob and told to keep aggro better. So I left. Which of course prompted more OMG NOOB cries.

I hate pugs....

The warrior 'experience' is not unique to any level - I got that at 60 in places like Stratholme FFS!!!

People think you have a button which says 'aggro' or something - they don't realise that you have to BUILD it - often against multiple opponents etc. etc.

The correct approach is just to let the fuckers die tbh...

It gets a bit "easier" though later on - rogues can sap, mages sheep, locks seduce - and you get more options later on including more methods to build aggro against multiple mobs. But generally you can take them on one by one, or in twos at most, which makes things easier, so you can compensate for idiots slightly by that.

It just annoyed me about how high they expected my standard of tanking to be when they were virtually running around like headless chickens hitting everything in sight - but I'M the noob!

Oh no, the priest would have been a noob, too, for sure, because that sort of thing probably did get them killed and you KNOW who they blame when that happens.

Pickup groups are like a box of chocolates - by the time you get to choose, all the best ones are taken. (Edit - OK, not all, but certainly the caramel chocolate ones.)
