The final battle didn't seem as hard as either the Horsemen or Sapphiron. It's hard to compare though because we were so incredibly prepared and motivated to kill him that nothing would have stopped us doing him tonight. We had our real life meet-up last week which I think gave us a bit of an edge as well because we were all talking about it then

The fight itself is very fun. You have waves of trash for 5 minutes, then Kel'Thuzad until 40% at which point he summons 6 Guardians of Icecrown (like mini-Anub'Rekhan). Getting it under control after the trash is hard because everything that is active when KT appears remains so - you have to kill it with the boss up too. We had a period of relative calm from 85% -> 40% where I was tanking it solidly without being MCed once. Then all hell broke loose as those 6 adds came in. You could see everyone getting twitchy at the end.

By 30% TS was deathly silent.

At 20% I think I said "this is it" because we had everyone alive.

Down to 11% and the Guardians were getting really huge and dangerous due to switching targets as they were shackled. I think we lost about 4-5 people as they kept breaking; then the warriors started to kite them. We got it back under control and 6% to dead was smooth.

His corpse is just one of those giant black balls you get off most ghosts so we decided to take the screenshot on the throne ;)

Heh, I typed die instead of day - Freudian?

Thaddius makes me cry. One of our guildies summed it up really; why the hell do Blizzard make a fight that creates so much lag, graphical lag, whatever with all the spell effects, and then make success crucial on a computer's/connection's ability to sustain itself through all this?

I gather you all had about as much fun on thaddius as we did. 21% turned out to be our best attempt. Although the last one just about a riot between amges and warlocks when they started complaing our "shitty curses" were knocking off ignite and winter's chill.

Hmmm, are there any changes to rep or riding that mean I need to buy the AV epic mount before I get this patch? Never got around to it.

Get it now before the patch. Think it costs tokens or something afterwards. I didnt take my chances and got it on both my characters.

Downloading patch 2.0 now on Blizzards crappy background downloader thing. 35.8 meg, and as usual taking forever.

Surely not? It can only have been on the PTR for what, a week? I wouldn't have thought we would see it until early Dec at anyrate. Not like I'm calling you a liar or anything cause you are obviously downloading something I guess.

Oh and massive Gratz Revz!

With the patches recently, I've been getting the downloader file and then using another tool to extract the torrent before downloading using uTorrent (>>>>>>>> than Blizz's Downloader) to download the actual patch file.

Hoping at some point in time to be able to stick a bunch of patches up somewhere shortly after their released.

...and I'm willing to bet linked from the WoW forums or DramaEU or something like that...

Not on DramaEU as far as I know to, must say I'm suprised though -_-

Looks like I'll be guildless for a long time, maybe forever on my Shaman. Maybe I'll just pvp after the patch, then simply re-roll after the expansion. Not a lot else I can do.
