Using a PROPER torrent is a better idea - because the Blizz one disconnects the moment you have the whole file - which means no seeds!!!!

They really have NO idea how BT works

Their client also screws up my framerate - and uTorrent doesn't so...

Only thing I wonder is - if they change the file (as they have done already) - will using a Torrent screw this up!?

According to one of the mods on the WoW-Europe forums, the Blizzard Downloader deliberately caps at low download rates so it doesn't interfere with the game while it's playing.

The annoying thing about "The Butterfly Effect" movie was that it had NOTHING to do with The Butterfly Effect (which illustrates complexity theory) - it was simply a time-travel/causality film - so LOADS of people are now even more confused than they would otherwise be

Also - and this cracks-me-up everytime - anyone who rented the VHS got a diff. ending to people who rented/bought the DVD - the CRAP cinema ending and not the rather more 'down' Directors Ending...

It's in your WoW folder on your hard drive. If you installed using the default path I guess it would look something like: "C:\Program Files\Blizzard\World of Warcraft\"

The file is called Blizzard Downloader.exe or something like that. Can't miss it.

My Blizzard Downloader only seems to be popping up when I close WoW, by which time I want to go sleep so I've not got anywhere yet.

I never use BitTorrent otherwise but I'll check out this uTorrent thingyme, cheers for the heads up

I think I read somewhere it's configured to download on game exit by default, but you can set it to other options by fiddling about with the Blizzard launcher. uTorrenting might be the best option though.

When you start WoW and you get the launcher you can decide how you want it to download: during the game and after you exit, only after you exit, etc.

uTorrenting it is pretty-much necessary tbh - I got 10Mb in 4 hours with the Blizz Downloader and the rest (624Mb) in 40 mins with uTorrent

I think healers in my guild will soon hate me. Not content with trying to top the dmg meters all the time I have now taken it into my head to top the heals taken meters (minus the warriors natch).

Nevermind heals taken, once I made top 5 in damage done and just scraped into the 10th place on healing done in a 40 man raid. Cow and I are still trying to work that one out.
