Not sure if it’s because it’s now recorded live on twitch but this week’s TCGS certainly had a manic energy to it which I enjoyed.

Are they doing it live on Twitch every week now? I'd definitely prefer that format.

I started a game and level design podcast with another developer friend a couple of months back. We're still finding our feet and working out a good balance between design theory and industry news/coverage. I spent a little while on the video edit of this one - so I hope the effort shows 😅

I try to keep my ex-AAA chatter to a minimum; not because of NDA's, but because I feel like conversations around the games I've worked on have been talked to death. We're planning on doing a couple of interviews with developers of upcoming games that we like (mostly weird smaller indie horrors or boomer shooters, etc.).

Loved the Capone edit. I had a really weird dream that I was doing a podcast with Adam Capone. Then a whole day later I realised I did do a podcast with Adam Capone. 13 years ago. Whaaa?

JOYTUNES 2.4

Myself and Morrius tackle a slightly horror themed show

Sadly the episodes seem to be lost to time. The insane thing is I'm still subscribed to Dorktunes and had no memory I was on it way back in the day. Hope I wasn't a horrible dickhead.

Giant Bomb is just unfunny, forced banter now. "Hey do you like hot dogs?" They also did a show where they didn't want to talk about games at all. So, fuck them.

Do Nextlander do an actual audio pod or is it just streaming and patreon? I li9ke Brad, but man I sometimes really don't care what Alex says at all.

As well as TCGS, Filthy Casuals is a good listen: three foul-mouthed Australian comedians chatting about each week's news and the latest games. There's 1-2 ads each episode, but they're normally quite funny, and episodes rarely go on for longer than about 70-80 mins.

Thanks, I'll give Filthy Casuals and TCGS a go.

Just looking for something that captures that magic of Giant Bomb or Idle Thumbs back in is heyday. Got the Back Page, of course, but looking for something more mainstream, too.

@dave7g yeah , Nextlander have a regular podcast they publish on Thursdays. It usually clocks in at about two hours.  It’s mostly on topic (they have an off topic podcast on Patreon) so you just get a dose of what they have been playing and gaming news.

I should probably check out Nextlander, too. Fond of those guys, naturally, but it's not quite the same as the Bomb/Beastcast days.
