I took the plunge and really, truly suck at this! Blimey it's hard!

So what's the idea with the polarity thing then? Is it best to be the opposite colour of the thing you're shooting (although easier to be the same colour as you can absorb the bullets?).

For starters, I found it easier on normal than on easy. The main difference is on normal when you destroy a craft the same colour as you are it gives out energy of that colour which you can absorb to fill your gauge and increase your score.

It's therefore generally best to be the opposite colour to what you're shooting until you've almost destroyed it, then switching to the same to finish it and collect the energy released. Not that I ever managed to get to the level where I could deal with that and keep an eye on my chain at the same time... If you've never played before, there are some videos on youtube that will blow your mind, but you'll pick up a lot of useful strategies you can simplify for various sections.

If there's a few others buying it now feel free to add me for friends leaderboard action, I don't know many people who own it and I'm nowhere in the global standings given I've never been past the chapter 3 boss.

yeah pretty much, if you're the opposite colour to what your shooting you do more damage, but you need to concentrate more on being the right colour to absorb bullets so you don't die.

there might not be much difference in difficulty between easy and normal on the first stage but on stage 2 there is a big difference imo, and later on some of the bosses are much harder on normal too. i'd definitely stick to easy to start with, it's plenty hard enough. i'm still rubbish at normal mode.

like already said, watching replays helps a lot in this game as it's part puzzle game, some sections that seem really hard are much easier if you have an idea what your supposed to be doing. you can download the top replays in the game on the 360 version.

amazing bargain for 400 points, it's great to see more people buying this :(

QFT. You do almost have to treat it as a puzzle game rather then a shooter at times. The sense of satisfaction when you clear a level with a massive chain is second to none too.

One man's energy is another man's bullet. The advantage of changing to the same colour is more to do with avoiding the bullets sent out by the enemy as it dies than absorbing it.

I'm planning on buying the remake of Secret of Monkey Island tomorrow and was wondering where people purchased their points from? I've never bought any before but if possible i'd rather use one of the online instant delivery sites. Any ideas would be greatly received. I can if needed pop to Game/Currys/etc if that is the recommended way.

Just found them. Wondered if it they'd be any good. Cheers. Although, is £17.95 expensive for 2100 points?

It's pretty much the RRP plus maybe a little bit more. Shopto sell points too and instantly email them, might be worth checking them out

I got 2100 from shopto last night instantly to my mobile for £15.85 minus 4% quidco. Anything £15 or below is a good price.

If you stayed the opposite colour you'd have had nothing to avoid in the first place though?

The GC version of this had a fantastic tutorial mode that's sadly missing here. I go from being semi-acceptable on the first chapter to not being able to see the pattern in the first stage of the second, it still catches me out after all this time and yet when you see it done right it looks so logical. Argh.

Does anybody who has recently bought N+ want to run through some co-op missions with me? I tried playing with some randoms but they were either useless, or got annoyed after one or two failed attempts and would leave.

I'm hella rusty as I bought the game when it first came out, but I'd be up for some co-op at some point soon. Maybe after the rllmuk poker tomorrow night?

Well its anything up to 4 player, so three's good. I'm probably up for tomorrow evening Billy, whenever the tournament finishes anyway. How does between 9-12 sometime tomorrow sound for you devil-goh? (I can PM to let you know an exact time tomorrow).

I'm up for some co-op N+, sure. Or any multiplayer N+ for that matter. Any time I've tried it it's been prohibitively laggy, which I guess is the transatlantic factor. I don't know if it's poor net code or just a game that is fundamentally flawed when latency is introduced.

Won't be around tonight, but can maybe play tomorrow night after my SF 4 games? That or Friday.

Yeah we'll be on late evening, so as long as there's an opening/someone drops out we can send you an invite. I've played a bit of the normal multiplayer, can be quite fun, but yeah a little laggy at times. I haven't noticed any major, unplayable latency though.

Is there any mode on Ikaruga that gives me infinite lives? I've played it quite a bit on the Dreamcast but never seen the whole game! Yes I should just get better at it but i'd like some more lives so that I could at least complete it and feel like i've achieved something whilst trying to get better.
