Okay, you've convinced me with that playlist, I'll give it a listen. Your icicle mix was quite nice also.

It's just got such a sweet bass line. It even got played on Vernon Kay's radio show the other day. A Sole Channel tune on daytime Radio 1, never thought I'd see that.

In other news, what has happened to Deep Dish? That Corrs soundalike tune they have out is woeful.

Gah. Missed it. Any chance you could upload it again?

It was the infinitely uncool Paul Oakenfold who got me in to house. Well actually, it was a girl, but she liked Oakenfold and I thought I'd give it a breast whirl. (And besides, my Stone Roses tape in the car was starting to get worn down.)

Anyway, she turned out to be a little mad, so I got shot. But I did come away with a thirst for more DJ stuff. I took the time to listen to as much sub-genres as possible, to see what they each had to offer, specifically focusing on stuff like Renaissance (Dave Seaman can't be a bad man if he introduced me to Minimalistics' 'Struggle for Pleasure'. He just can't.) or Yoshiesque (Loudeast - 'Lights Off!" raises a smile by memory alone.)

I got in to mixing for a while, but never very seriously. In fact, I ended up spending ages doing visuals for my favourite tracks. Nothing too fancy, but that's what tugged my boat - deconstructing a tune down to the tiniest detail and editing graphics to match the sound. Hey, it passed the time. ;) (see, that's why I want the mix above - I did a wee video for 16b's 'Escape (Driving to Heaven)'.

Nowadays, less of my time is given to DJ mixes (the constant fight in trying to find one that pleases probably had an effect somewhere along the line. Oh, and the death of AudioGalaxy didn't help.) but when I do it'll be something along the lines of Michael Meyer's 'Immer' or David Alvorado's 'Mayasongs'.

Recommendations are always welcome.

Fucking hell, as soon as that started I was like 'old school bassline'. Mr.G's stuff is really hit and miss I find. The good tracks are really good and the rest are merely average. I think it's the style of looped grooves that he makes, if you don't like 4 bars - you won't like the rest. I like this one though :lol:

@acidbearboy: Glad you like the track, I know what you're saying about Mr. G's other stuff but look out for his newer stuff as he's changing his style quite considerably and the new tracks he played me at the weekend blew me away. He's also just done a remix for a kid named 'Rekid' thats going to be huge.

@boyatsea: Fair enough.

cheers for the comments so far!
