I've really gotta get hold of some Berserk, I saw the anime a few years ago but it sounds like the manga's even better from what you guys are saying.

The berserk anime tells only a fraction of the story so far and in fact nothing much important happens plotwise until the last 3 or 4 eps.

I see it as a preview or trailer for the manga.

One of my friends tried to get me to read and appreciate manga.

She succeeded in the former, and completely flailed the latter.

I think it was 'The Get-Backers 3', or something silly like that.

Tell your friend to give you good stuff to read? And maybe start with the 1st volume?

Hopefully it'll kick off in the next or so :(

I am intrigued by this void century business mind :D

On another note can anyone tell me what chapter the naruto manga was when the chap with the brush and ink skills turns up? I left it there and need to go back to catch up ;) I wish the anime would sort it out and get Kakashi Gaiden aired, this much filler is unbearable :(

I read the first volume of "A Spirit of the Sun".

It's basically an Earthquake story about what happens If the big quake that Japan should be getting happens.

Imagine Kyoto and Osaka being underwater, 20million dead, 40 million missing and the largest island being split into 2.

with Chinese invading the country underthe guise of relief aid.

It's good and even wonthe Manga of the Year in Japan.

Nah. Being translated by some fan groups into English though.

Hopefully someone will license it for an English release though. :(

Do you think Sasuke will make an appearance now that naruto has had the kyubi overtake him? or do you think orochimaru (sp?) will be able to stop him by himself?

Seeing how this story arc just managed to blow up without warning i honestly couldn't say what would happen! But, I reckon they'll keep back Sasuke's appearance till a while later yet and Orochimaru will probably do his buggering off trick if he takes a proper kicking. Still we won't wait too long -_-

Yeah they've been dropping hints about Sasuke appearing for a few chapters now but I think we're gonna see some stuff happen with Orochimaru first. Plus I want to see just how powerful that new arty kid is and the wood elemental ANBU geezer. They've got more to show us, I KNOW it.

Bleach seems to be taking its foot of the pedal now. Probably time for a bit of a lull in the fighting for us to establish where all the characters are at and for Ichigo to go power himself up again so he can kick ass again.

Isn't anyone else reading Hellsing? I'm reading through volume 8 at the moment and :D

I'll repeat what's been said about Berserk, the anime in no way compares to the manga. The Hellsing manga is just amazing and needs to be read by everyone who saw the anime, just so you can see where the story was meant to go.

For those that want a spoiler...

How does a battle between 3000 Vatican troops and 500 vampire SS Nazi's in London sound? And when the Vatican commander's asked about the risk of casualties in London his comment is "The only good protestant is a dead protestant!"

Can someone recommend a good UK-based online manga shop with a massive back catalog? There are a few things I'd like to read but most of them started coming out a long time ago.

Try amazon or maybe play. I get most of my manga from Amazon. Don't really know of any specialist sites that do manga. Would love to know myself, if there is one

The Forbidden Planet website can be pretty good for some things. They aren't the cheapest place around and you can bet that you'll be in for a long wait for your items but you can often find some of the older items on there.

Other than that, Amazon are still pretty good even though for a lot of stuff you'll be resorting to marketplace sellers.
