Bleach seems to be taking its foot of the pedal now. Probably time for a bit of a lull in the fighting for us to establish where all the characters are at and for Ichigo to go power himself up again so he can kick ass again.

this weeks raw would suggest otherwise, its the most exciting chapter ive read for months, all the stuff its been building upto over the last half year is starting

ururu is ok, ishida and his father are back and training together, chad is asking urahara to train him so he can help again and.... ichigo goes to the vaizards to ask for they're help!

The Forbidden Planet website can be pretty good for some things.  They aren't the cheapest place around and you can bet that you'll be in for a long wait for your items but you can often find some of the older items on there.

Yeah, just read that chapter and it certainly does look like things are starting to build up to the next round of fights doesn't it.

Naruto chapter 294's out on some IRC bots as well, translated. Naruto's fight with Orochimaru is pretty cool, and that black ball... :P "That could be dangerous"

Even Hunter x Hunter's looking interesting now! The Hunters are finally about to launch their attack on the King.

I had a look around town last week in a vain attempt to start on a manga series, but I found - rather humourously - that as well stocked as the shops appeared to be, not one of them were stocking first issues of anything I went looking for. Loads of other issues, but no number 1s. I would have thought they'd make it a priority to always have a decent supply of first volumes in, because naturally that's where people are going to want to start.

Oh well, I found an online shop that seems to be decent and well-stocked. Once again the high street loses!

having moved to leeds i feel i can officially state that nottingham is absolutely fucking rubish for buying manga

Having tried to shop for manga in Nottingham in the last few weeks, I can also say that it's totally rubbish. The selection seems pretty poor on the whole (if ever I plan on getting something, it's never ever there), and they're always missing parts in series' which is annoying. It's usually the first part as well, which is all the more annoying considering it's in their best interests to keep that in stock.

Internet FTW then. Loads cheaper and you've actually got a chance of getting what you're after.

leeds travelling man is absolutely brilliant, they have new stuff in stock as soon as its available, in decent quantities (if i want and shonen jump graphics from travelling man nottingham i have to hope im the first person to notice theyre out as they only ever get one or two of each in) and they always keep the whole series' in stock from beginning to end.

Wooof! Naurto eats the ball he/it made and then spat it out at orochimaru, who puts up THREE of those fuck off gates those merging brothers used way back. All obliterated!!!! >_< Orochimaru feints with the double and fucks baruto off big style with the stomach sword job pinning the cunt something like 3 miles away!!! This and One Piece is making for great reading ;)

...things are running at 1000 feet per second in One Piece. Zoro fight is, as can be expected, sick. A giraffe? :D what use he'll make of that ability god only knows. Another :) for Usopp, poor bastard :huh: Really entertaining so far and i can't wait to see how Sanji gets on with "More Tea vicor?" :lol:

I'm working on a scanlation (who made up that word? Can I please punch them until their ribs look like chest-horns?) of the official Xenosaga: The Manga right now. It's nice and low maintenance because it takes them a whole year to make one new volume, but it's ace, and they've just finished the whole of Episode I. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll inform you when it gets up and going (should be a week or two, I want to get a good few days lead time so I can do more than one translation-pass).

thoughts on bleach 217 from my blog, theyre spoilerific!

righty, cool chapter this week, bit of comic relief but a LOT of covert plot progression.

this weeks chapter, rather than explaining much leave us open to a lot more speculation about the vaizards. they are a group of rogue shinigami who attain the powers of hollows using "forbidden techniques".

in this weeks chapter ichigo is training with them to supress his hollow. hirako (who seems to be the leader/joint leader) divulges to ichi that he knows pretty much everything that has happened to him over the course of him gaining his abilities.

now, in fairness they could have just been monitoring ichigo carefully, but they would have to have spied on him whilst he was training with urahara in the shattered shaft AND during his time in soul society, including when he was training with yourichi. which seems massively unlikely without him being detected by either urahara or yourichi, considering their both captain class.

this leads us to the theory that someone is informing the vaizards of ichigos progress, and it seems unlikley that jinta, tessai or ururu would have been informing without uraharas permission. so either yorurichi or urahara has presumably been telling the vaizards whats going on with ichi.

now, on the messageboards people seem to be using the fact that urahara does not act as though he is affilated with the vaizards when he discusses them with isshin in chapter 184. so either he is lying to isshin (as isshin is clearly quite old, maybe he still has links to soul society?) or yorurichi is the one informing and is lying to urahara. the two seem very close though so i think the possibility of her lying to him is pretty low.

so presumably urahara is the source of the information, directly or indirectly. this is also implied in the fact that the hirako displays a knowledge of the hyokogou (sp?) and even hints that he knows things about it that nobody has yet mentioned. obviously urahara would know because he made it.

so if urahara IS working with the vaizards then hes either trafficing them information for his own insanely circuitous motives or he is a part of the organisation. because the organisation does seem to be lacking one vital member

at the moment it seems that hirako and hiyori are in charge (they argue over all the important desicions and in 217 one of the other vaizards calls hirako "sir") and they seem to be rather young to be controlling a group of rogue shinigami. i know they age very slowly but still, for them to have learned these "forbidden techniques" surely they would have needed the help of an older, more experienced shinigami.

so maybe the long running theory about urahara being the leader of the vaizards is correct? either that or yorourichi is their leader, maybe because urahara abandoned them (as people who experiment on things are prone to doing). or perhaps urahara is evil and working with aizen and yorurichi is pretending to be on his side for the information whilst secretly controlling the vaizards behind his back?

*sits back and waits patiently for next weeks chapter*

Am I the only one thinking that the Vaizards were made by Uruhara? After all, he had the hyokogouaakaa thinggy for some time and must have experimented with it. Plus, he's not stopping them contact Ichigo......

Currently working through Fruits Basket, shojo manga with comedy as well as some dark issues and some rather disturbing confrontations. Unfortunatly ive got/read up to book 8 but apparently volumes 9 and 11 are hard to get hold of so im still waiting for my ordered copy.

If you have no morals like me just download them upto volume 19 and buy them when they are released.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I read up to chapter 404-p18-19 yesterday, and I was wondering how often new updates are released?

I really loved the manga so far btw,

if only Sanji could get a grip (but then he wouldn't be Sanji I suppose...) and if Zoro had done some real damage before becoming hand-cuffed to Sogeking.

I'm watching the One Piece anime, up to the Skypedia arc. Seen up to ep172 but have to 179 to watch, which is as far as the decent fansubbers are (the other fansubs are aweful!).

Where would that be compared to the Manga?

thats quite a far bit back on the manga. i presume your getting the K-F subs? there are newer releases done by Gerusama and ADC-Heaven which are actually on the same story arc as the manga.
