I certainly hope so. I wanted a DS Lite but wasn't sure what game to get if bundles were available. I hope Brain Training is bundled wit hit.

Does anyone know if Brain Training has multiplayer games? The DS Lite would be my second DS and I could try coaxing the rest of the family on to games with the old one and Brain Training.

Just cause its on the box of a game doesn't mean it has to be out by then.

If you watch channel four when they've got their 'nintendo ds sponsors.......' adverts theyre allready showing the lite instead of the old ds.

Right. I've gone and pre-ordered an Australian one from DVD Crave. I put a note with the order asking them to mark the cost down. Couple of quick questions:

1) Anyone used them before and are they likely to mark it down?

2) What's the standard plug type on Australian stuff? Same as here or will I need to get an adaptor?

Cheers

2) You'll need to get down to Maplin and get yourself one of these.

...

So are we still on for an announcement about the UK launch today?

Taken from Nintendo UK

"22nd May 2006 - The Nintendo DS Lite will become the new addition to Nintendo’s video game family when it launches in Europe on 23rd June 2006. Available in two colours from launch - a sleek black edition and a cool, stylish white edition, the summer really is looking brighter.

Nintendo DS Lite is a lighter and brighter version of the highly successful Nintendo DS, which has sold more than 4 million units across Europe and 16 milllion units worldwide. It will join the Nintendo DS range as a ‘premium’ alternative to the current Nintendo DS and is expected to retail at the estimated price of around £99.99 / 149.99 Euros.

Nintendo’s latest console includes all the existing features of the Nintendo DS, yet includes a variety of distinctive changes which truly sets it apart from other handheld consoles. Nintendo DS Lite retains the advanced touch screen technology, allowing players to control the software with a stylus or even their finger, as well as dual screens, voice recognition and Wi-Fi capabilities of the Nintendo DS but is now both smaller and lighter.

Weighing nearly 60g less than the original, it is just two thirds of the original size. The redesign isn’t only cosmetic though, the Nintendo DS Lite features adjustable screen brightness with four settings, a repositioned microphone for ease of use and a larger and more comfortable stylus. With its new design and unique features, this console is perfect for everyone regardless of age, gender and gaming skills.

This summer, not only can you look great with a Nintendo DS Lite, but with its new screen, these new titles will also look amazing. Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? launches on 9th June and is a unique and innovative application that allows users to test and exercise their brain in just a few minutes a day. Nintendogs Dalmatian & Friends Edition, launching on 16th June, lets players pick from over twenty cute breeds of puppy, including the adorable Dalmatian, and then play with them just like a real puppy.

New Super Mario Bros., which launches on 30th June, is the first side-scrolling Mario platform game since the days of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System; Electroplankton, launching on 7th July, allows the user to experiment with both musical and visual effects to create their own multimedia masterpiece; and Big Brain Academy, also launching on 7th July, tests a player’s rational thinking and mental reaction speed with a series of wacky 60 second tests.

The Nintendo DS Lite will launch across Europe on the 23rd June 2006 for the estimated retail price of around £99.99/149.99 Euros."
