Got my Navy one today and its a riiiiiiiiiight fucking fingerprint magnet. Lush as fuck though :)

That's the main reason why I chose white - fingerprints are harder to spot.

All of the colour units have this added fingerprint feature.

Finally opened my white one at lunchtime (thank you nintendo for supplying it charged) after looking at it all morning and it really is a thing of beauty.

I tknow theres 100+ pages of gushing already but my god its good.

I had Mario running on my DS and Lite next to each other and its like comparing a GBA to an SP , the difference in brightness is gobsmacking.

amazing and worth every penny, but the only gripe is how much GBA* carts stick out.

*I mean scummvm loaded goodness

Anybody scared about how silly they look with a GBA cartridge hanging out of the bottom of their DS Lite will be happy to hear that the EZ Flash IV Lite and G6 Lite flash cards are on the way that fit nicely into the DS Lite.

I had my suspicions that all the ranting and raving about how great the screen was down to rampant fanboysim.

It's not, those screens are bloody impressive. Everything looks so much more colourful. It's fantastic.

The new stylus is much, much better too.

I'm undecided about the dpad. It's much better for Mario Kart as it seems to have a bit more feedback than the standard DS one. It doesn't seem quite as good for the one handed stuff though, but perhaps I need to hold it a little differently.

Overall, it's an amazing piece a kit though. A real decent step forward for the DS..

Tomorrow cant come fast enough for me....ages since I was all excited about a product launch like this :)

I was excited enough at the Japanese launch. I'm almost pissing myself with excitement about picking up a DS lite and Loco Roco tomorrow.

I'm 28.

I'm so sad.

Are the European boxes as tiny/stylish as the Japanese ones? Very Apple, very minimalist, very unlike the traditional Nintendo image?

Actually I'm feeling a bit jealous of all you guys getting one for the first time this week, which is ridiculous as I've been playing* with mine for months.

no they are bigger.

I got a new black ds lite this morning from GAME online, and its got a dam dirty dead pixel! Im gutted as this is my 2nd ds lite and 4th ds in general and none others have had such at thing. any tips for getting rid of it (its thats at all possible?).

I take it there is no way game would let me swap for a non dead pixel one?

I spent the last part of lunch ringing my local Game, Gamestation, HMV, Woolies, ToysRUs, and WHSmith to ask who had them and what packs they would be doing tomorrow.

Im just enjoying thinking about what games to choose to go with it... :)

I suppose the bigger box is inevitable as the Japanese PSU is tiny and the prongs fold up into it too. Just not possible with a UK 3 pin plug. But is it as pretty? Someone POST BOX PIX PLZ.

On the dead pixel front, I don't think there's any way of fixing it (mine has an always blue pixel on the lower screen, I no longer notice it though) although taking it back to a Game shop complete with receipt and sob story might be worth a try.

can u take game online store purchases back to the highstreet store?

Yes you can. I've returned/swapped several items in this way.

As for the dead pixel issue, GAME are as good as gold and will swap with no issues.

Looking forward to acquiring two DS Lites tomorrow for me and the missus.

My only gripe is that i'll have to change all of my friend codes... :)

No idea, but it's worth a go.

Or just do what I do, and live with it. After a while you really don't notice it. I know it's not perfect but think of it like a small birthmark on an otherwise perfect body!

Not if you transfer from your old DS first. If you're trading it in, why not do it in the shop?
