They have looked a lot more shaky this season even with VVD. Pickford’s challenge was disgraceful though - surely if the ref doesn’t punish it in-game he can retrospectively put him up for violent conduct or something. Richarlison’s was just as bad but he got a red so they can’t revisit it, but Pickford didn’t even get a booking.

That's what I am saying, yeah. He hadn't looked as solid for a little while. Still a massive player to lose, of course.

Same as the Newcastle game, we should have been out of sight , positives are we still haven’t put out our best side and we look good and games are entertaining.

The season has a whiff of ‘what ifs?’ already tho, Liverpool look like Virgil is out all season and they look poor at the back with him...

Think Spurs could have massively benefitted from not being in the Europa League this season. While you’re still one of the better teams in the competition, it would have been interesting to see you have a run in the league with no other distractions outside the domestic cups.

Our squad is far to big to not play in Europe as well, yesterday even with injuries to Dier and Lo Celso, there was still no room on the bench for Lamela, Dele or Gedson.

We simply don’t have a dominant centre back anymore and it’s becoming plain to see, just how important Jan was to us when he was at his peak a few seasons ago.

Fair enough. At least you have a manager with experience of winning the thing.

Lamela plays like someone playing FIFA with a broken joypad. Everything is under or over hit or a second too slow. Useless.

Unless you want some expert shithousery done then yes, Lamela is pretty useless these days, especially when he starts.

To be fair to Ian Wright, he is very complimentary about Spurs usually. Second half was a bit dull - content to sit on the lead and not really try anything risky.

Indeed, it’s easier to play mid table teams who can’t defend than it is organised teams set out to stop you scoring...

Seven points from Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal feels like two points dropped, love him or loathe him Jose has turned the defence around and set us up to exploit our strengths going forward - will be amazing when we are fully settled and start going after teams!

Yeah I like the chap, but on the subject of (being an) Arsenal (fan) he sounds like everyone else I know that supports the club. I can't put my finger on it, its not merely just disappointment, its like some sort of massive expectation or entitlement that every year they are going to be special because they are owed it or something from past glory, and the game doesn't work like that. Its just something in the way they talk about it - the whole "Enough is enough" thing is hilarious to me.

If anything since Leicester won the Prem, it should be demonstrating that you can't just show up and expect to get places because of the badge on the shirt.

I watched the game last night on BT Sport, and not only was Jake Humphrey being complimentary about Spurs, Owen Hargreaves was very positive, and Glenn Hoddle finally aired on TV what Spurs fans have been saying for a while. Which was, when Leicester won the Premier League with counter-attacking football everyone in the media was saying how great it was, so what’s changed now Spurs are doing it ?

Remember the whole narrative in the media against poch was that he had to win a trophy. Now it's that you have to win a trophy playing nice football. I wish they would sort their agendas out.

After today's results it's going to be a big game on Wednesday for both teams

Yep - I was slightly deflated after our game, as we were well on top when we scored, then dropped deep to protect the one-nil and conceded, and then were all over them again for the last ten. José himself said in the Amazon doc “2-0 in the Premier League is not game over”. Their goalie made some fantastic saves to be fair; another day we could still have had three or four despite the middle 45 minutes.

On the plus side, Chelsea lost and Liverpool didn’t overtake us. Big game on Wednesday ! Oh yeah, and Arsenal.

Game had 2-1 all over it, Liverpool are a joy to watch at times but we contained them and second half played better than them and had 3 clear chances and if you don’t take them you are open to a sucker punch late home winner....

Next game is big, poor against Palace second half and unlucky at Liverpool so could do with a result and it’s a tricky game but plenty of positives and players to come back #COYS

Yeah, I thought we were unfortunate tonight - defended well, and almost got that final ball away so many times. Two inches more swerve on his shot and Bergwijn scores, Kane with an uncharacteristic miss and then a defensive lapse at the end. Really disappointed, but encouraging. Thought Aurier was great again.

They need to pick themselves up after that sucker punch. Liverpool will drop points, we just have to stay close enough to take advantage.

Annoyingly predictable outcome I suppose for the 'Pool with their track record.

Consolation is that we scored 2 out of the 3 goals.

Found the Amazon feed pretty good, but got fed up with the constant Liverpool love-in from the commentary team in the end, it just becomes wearing on the brain.
