Rafa Benitez is still in with a shout too !

The one I really don’t want is Roberto Martinez - the luckiest man in world football to have landed the Belgium job after taking Wigan down and being bobbins at Everton.

I don’t think I want anyone we have linked with to be honest, getting in someone older is pointless as let’s face it, we need a complete rebuild and with that a manager whose young and will happily take on this type of long-term project.

Someone like Eddie Howe or Graham Potter ? Potter would be a brave appointment, but Brighton are probably a level of player in a couple of areas off being a bloody good side. Would be quite happy with that.

Or Scott Parker alongside a more experienced assistant or Director of Football ?

One thing’s for sure, Steve Hitchen has presided over a period of very poor recruitment and playing style, and needs to get in the bin.

None of them really excite me really, but Potter is probably the best of a bad bunch.

Hitchen has been a fucking disaster, we have wasted over 200 million in players that really done anything over the last few years.

Yeah, and more to the point, would any of those managers excite Kane enough to stay ?

Another one I really don’t want - Southgate.

Genuine question, would you take Poch back?

Yes, but only with a new chief scout/director of football, as frankly as good as a coach he is, Poch made some terrible choices in the transfer market which are still haunting us now.

Also it won't make any difference who the manager is if we don't get rid of the huge amount of dead wood. I personally doubt we will - especially in the current transfer market. Levy won't want to take a hit on mega flops like Lamela.

We might as well stick with Mason if he does reasonably well. So far he's done ok.

Yup, hoping this is a real possibility now PSG are out of the CL and the club will implode.

Lamela is all but gone and likely to Roma, defi Italy tho. Mason shouldn’t even be considered if we have any ambition, it could also be the end of his managerial career so I don’t think he would take it tbh.

I’m not sure. On balance, yes - there were a lot of positives during his reign, but there were also negatives. Lack of a Plan B when things weren’t working, bizarre substitutions too late to change a game etc. I’m not sure how big a stick the bad signings are to beat him with - it’s become pretty clear that the manager at Spurs identifies a position he needs improving or reinforcing, and provides a player name as his ideal signing, and Hitchen and Levy then go out and find someone sort of the same only cheaper and not as good. That’s been true since ‘Arry was in charge (asked for Tevez and Cahill, got Saha and Nelson).

Ultimately, the player recruitment strategy needs a massive overhaul, with final say on player acquisition coming from the manager. I’m ok with them presenting a list of players to him and him selecting from that list (or telling them to fuck off and try again if the list isn’t good enough), but not happy at all with the way it works currently, and I suspect not having final say on transfer targets is putting off most ‘top’ managers.

No heart, no desire, no skill, no chance.

Reports that the fans stayed to protest against ENIC and the players refused to come out for the traditional ‘last home game’ lap of (dis)honour.

EDIT - they eventually did come out, but so long after the final whistle most fans had gone, assuming it wasn’t happening.

What a depressing end to a depressing season.

We clearly need a huge refresh, but it's going to be so difficult with club's lack of cash, and the Euros going on.    Plus we still don't have a manager.

Being out of Europe could do us some good, give us a chance to form a regular starting 11 and focus on being good again.

We have so much average to get rid of that it's actually hard to fathom.

Winks, Doherty, Aurier, Dier, Lamela, Lo Celso, Vinicius - I'm probably missing some really obvious ones. These all reek of average. If Kane does go then I'm not seeing where the goals or assists come from.

I’d be happy for Kane to leave, we have lost out on quality strikers over the years because no-one wanted to be his understudy.

if we can get a good wedge for him, or decent player(s) plus cash, I’d thank him for his service and let him go.

Sissoko !

Honestly, I was raging last night near the end when Doherty was caught out of position and their left winger was bombing at Toby while Doherty jogged back. Well, I was raging for most of the match, but that bit really annoyed me !

Think Lo Celso deserves a bit more time given how disrupted his season has been with so many niggling injuries. I'd include Sissoko and Sanchez in the players who need to move on too, and really there needs to be some serious thought put into replacing Lloris and Toby long-term. Would be happy to see a lot of the gaps left by that lot filled by youngsters, tbh.

Vinicius is basically already gone, his loan ends this season and his option to buy is £40m+

Last chance: Doherty, Dele, Bergwijn, Lucas

Get rid: Dier, Winks, Aurier, Lamela, Sissoko, Sánchez, Aurier, Davies

Bring in from loan and play: Sessegnon, Foyth, Skipp

Give Bale another season - he seems good for morale and has experience of winning.  He was stifled under Mourino.

Nah lo celso has been a complete letdown. I have zero faith in him. Typical spurs purchase really.

Villarreal have an option to buy Foyth for something daft like £12m.

In a parallel universe of 'football doesn't work like that' but i don't care, Levy lost his marbles and hired a local pub owner to manage the team as an experiment and his lineups every game when possible were just all his favourite players, which just happen to be some of the most technically impressive attacking players of the last few years, and the world didn't end, no cups were won, champions league qualification wasn't secured, but no one was left with a gnawing feeling of dissatisfaction of something unfulfilled, of what might have been.
