If Fonseca works off a central focal point with runners, and assuming Kane goes, they could do a lot worse than keep Vinicius and have Son and Bergwijn or Lucas playing off him. His style will also play Reguilon and Doherty in their proper positions.

Vinicius is already gone and unless Son signs a new contract, I would quite happily sell him.

Has he ? I never saw that he’d gone back :( Although that explains the rumour that they’re after Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Yeah Vinicius left at the end of the season and we were never gonna buy him for £45m.

Ten Hag is my preference, but at least Fonseca would be something interesting at least.  Still think we need a manager who will blood youth.

Vinicius never looked worth keeping. For £45m I'd expect a lot better. It would be nice to see some youth players getting a chance. And I don't include Harry Winks in that.

Yup - if they decided Klinnsman is a no-go (rightly) because of his club management track record, fuck knows why Martinez or Southgate would be under consideration. Just get Graham Potter if you can, or pay the comp for Pochettino if you’re so desperate to have him back, Mr Levy !

I did the dare walk on Sunday, the stadium is even more impressive up there than sitting in it - the acoustics are incredible even with 6 people making noise (funny that pre COVID matches I went to in the new stadium didn’t have much of an atmosphere other than booing as I recall)

I didn’t gain any insight into the new manager, sale of players or anything relevant - soz!

I've been to a couple of matches now in the new gaff, and both times I was surprised at how low volume it can be at times.

Mind you the second game I saw was when we lost to Wolves on March 1st 2020, and it felt like everyone was already sick of Mourinho and his boring football at that point.

Fucking hell, if reports are to be believed Potter has turned them down as well. Wants to wait for a ‘top four club’. Alternatively, Brighton wanted £20m in compensation as he only signed a new 6-year deal last season.

Surely unless Potter wins the fa cup or league cup and/or gets Brighton in the European places and then has a good Europa league campaign whilst also playing some of the most attractive football around and beating top 4 teams in memorable games that show a lot of courage and ambition then Man City or Liverpool are not dropping from the 2 best coaches in the world down to him. Liverpool were in a different place when they appointed Rodgers.

Spurs are the perfect vehicle for a manager like him. Not that it's actually true. Is Potter more rated now than Howe was when Bournemouth were doing well?

I think he’s the latest ‘up and coming English coach’ that has a side without big names making waves. But I totally agree, you would think Spurs would be a great challenge for someone like him, but if it’s true he said that, it seems he wants everything on a plate rather than building something special, which is disappointing. The Spurs squad is a mess to be sure, but they have some exceptional under-23s coming through, and selling the dead wood, along with making two or three key signings (at least one CB, a RB, and a decent CM who isn’t afraid to want the ball and face forward) then they’ll be in a much better place than this season.

If nothing else he knows the Premier league and has had decent success with a half decent a Wolves side.

If he can get Doherty playing like he did for them, and we can get Traore on the cheap then it may not be a bad signing.

Yeah, but, Levy. He’ll know that Levy isn’t going to splash the cash to fix the squad, and that’d be the end of his being a wanted up and comer.

I just hope the rumours about Mendes becoming more involved with our transfers isn’t true.

It’s all a bit of a mess really to be honest, and I fear there won’t be much progress either on or off the pitch over the next two years or so.
