For the same reason many transfers have been a shambles this close season, your lot should know all about it.

I blame the agents, dirty scummers that they are.

don't forget selling club employees as well, Zenit's chairman moving the goalposts and Man City pulling out of a technically complete transfer have tossed us around something good.

Very true but i suspect agents are still involved, esp with the Russian lad as i read he was told to hang on incase a better offer came in etc

What do you guys think of Veloso? I know we were interested in him for a while last year, and Gunners too.

Think he could be potentially the kind of defensive midfield/defener you need to allow Modric to push on.

If and when you get Pav and Arsh i think you could have a pretty exciting strike force.

He sounds like exactly what we need, we've been on the brink for ages allegedly but we've been waiting on Sporting.

Latest news on Arshavin was that he's said he hasn't heard anything, not that it doesn't mean we've not approached again seeing as everything has apparently been agreed with him. Plenty of rumblings about regarding loads of players, the silly end of the silly season is incredibly silly!

I'm really not as sure that's a good idea any more, unless he says sorry for being a bit of a knob last weekend the reception he gets is going to be frosty to say the least! If he does though then I could see people forgiving him as long as he starts being more committed, I miss the player we got 2 years ago from Bayer ;)

I don't know why any club would want to keep a player so obviously unhappy as Berbatov is at Spurs. It's already affected the dressing room if the reports are true and he is going to get booed all over the park if he ever plays for us again. What sort of commitment are we going to get from him? I'm guessing not man of the match performances. The whole sorry saga has been bollocks, I mean, holding out for a 30 fucking million quid deal, really?

After we get battered by Chelsea this weekend, hopefully that will be when our season starts proper and we can start fighting for a mid-table finish with no cups. *winking smiley*

Really happy with today, felt we could get something from this what with Chelsea having some injury problems, and we really pulled together as a team today. I think having Berbaknob nowhere near us helped, heard he's in Manchester having his medical which is good news for the lads. Pav's in, we had a meeting with Zaragoza regarding Milito and Sergio Garcia yesterday so either one or both of them looks likely, Corluka apparently done and dusted now, Veloso deal still open, plus Palacio is an outside possibility. Definitely feeling more upbeat now, all this shite is nearly finished with now and we can get on with our season.

Do you guys think that Corluka will get 1st team action now that Woodgate and King are back?

I think he will get a lot of first team action whether that is at centre back, right back or centre mid. I think his versatility is what made him so attractive.

Is there any other chairman so full of shit as Daniel Levy? I love the fact that despite moaning about Man Utd's approaches for Berbatov all Summer, when it comes down to it he drops the complaint against them, because he used it to get a higher transfer fee. And then he's back moaning again today about it, and how the transfer system needs a review. What an asshole.

Ramos asked for the Berbatov transfer to be completed one way or another 2 weeks ago. This obviously didn't happen and Spurs can't make any signings until January. Levy certainly brought in a large fee for the Bulgarian but left his manager unable to spend the proceeds.

I think if Man City hadn't tabled their bid, he would have been gone by late afternoon for £25-28mil, and we would have gotten another striker. Oh well, with any hope we'll get all our January stuff sorted well before and just have to wait for the window to open to get the players. We'll be alright with 3, we'll probably be playing a 4-5-1 derivative anyway. As long as Bent doesn't get injured so we've got one for UEFA We'll be alright. Modric should shine playing continental sides so the striker will just have to put his chances away, and he can do that well.

Also according to the club, we had a striker all ready to sign, but their agent interfered and destroyed the deal. Once again, hate for Agents +1 :)

We've not been that bad apart from for their goal. Gomes is proving he's a massive improvement on Robbo, Zokora is playing pretty well again ( ) Bale is a great threat. Lennon's speed is great but he's had no final ball all night though, but Pav has looked lively. We're bringing Bentley on fr the next half so we should see some improvements in that department.

Worried King isn't even in the squad though, could be he's being rested for UEFA but I'd have like to have seen Gunter on the right with Corluka instead of Daws.
