I hope when Coulthard retires they take him on a pundit / commentator. He seemed very knowledgeable and not at all irritating when he did some interviews for them last year. James Allen is incredibly irritating and I hope with the change of people presenting the show it won't be ButtonTV anymore.

So the team is now Steve Ryder, James Allen, Martin Brundle, Louise Goodman and the other person whose name I cannot remember but is pretty good with the pit updates.

Ted Kravitz ?

Steve Ryder used to present the F1 when it was on BBC IIRC.

he SHOULD be able to do a much BETTER job, than the COMEDY RANDOM LOUD WORDS style of Jim Rosenthal

While I don't think BMW will reign supreme, being a massive fanboy, I'm going to be rooting for them all the way. Good to see them going from simply providing engines to getting full on. I've never understood why they've not made the leap before. I'll be keeping a close eye on Honda too to see how they play things.

I missed every F1 race last year. I don't plan on letting that happen again. I can't wait to see how the new regs along with the V8s make things pan out.

Id like to see BMW and Villeneuve do well. Not sure why, but part of me still thinks that Villeneuve is really good for some reason ;)

Anyone apart from me getting to any of the races this year ?

I wouldn't mind Ted Kravitz replacing James Allen to be honest. Ted can be a little "stiff" at times, but he is likeable and knowledgable, without spouting forth statistic after statistic every few seconds like James Allen does.

In fact I'd rather a turd did the commentating than James Allen.

Oh and would drivers (I'm looking at you Jenson Button and Coulthard in particular) please stop pretending you fancy Louise Goodman. She's old enough to be their granny nevermind their bloody mother.

<_<

Johnny Herbert was far worse when he was still in F1

Just imagine the sound of Louise Goodman wanking you off. With all those bangles it'd be like banging two dustbin lids together.

I think of these things so you don't have to.

But then you post them and make us think of them anyway...

I got the Guardian yesterday, I ain't too fussed about F1 to be honest.

If anyone wants the guide from it PM me and I will send it to you. Gratis.

Still nobody want this Guardian guide sent to them for nothing?

It is only going to get slung otherwise

right you are. I saw him woundering around the pits during testing and assumed he was "advising" rather than free loading.

Still, nice bloke. Hes' won Le Mans you know.

yeah he is. met him when i used to do some work for jaguar racing. his niceness was amplified due to the pressence of one edmund irvine, who is in contrast, a twunt.

Nice to see Honda up front !

Those Toro-Rosso's are looking quite handy with their "Restricted" V10.....

Is only the 2nd practice session, so we havent seen anything yet really - I predict much more to come from Renault and McLaren expecially

Not having a pop at you because I don't think you're having a go at them, but I've read so much bullshit today about the restricted V10's and how Toro Rosso are cunts because they aren't at the back of the grid.

Fact is, the resricted V10 is allowed to be as powerful, but no more so, than a competitive V8. There's nothing in the rules that says they have to be slower than the V8's or that Toro Rosso must not be allowed to outperform the Red Bull's. Therefore, it's more than possible that a Toro Rosso can be up the front. With the not-too-shabby RB01 as the basis for the STR01, it's not at all surprising to me that a Toro Rosso can be in the bottom half of the top 10. Just because they bought the Minardi team, doesn't mean they should never be allowed to achieve any more than Minardi ever did.

Dunno why everyone is still hating on the Super Aguri's. Considering they got the car up and running and about 6 seconds off of practice pace within 4 weeks is fucking marvellous in my eyes. Does nobody remember Mastercard Lola? They were 15 seconds off the pace at their first and only race.

Well the fact of the matter is Red Bull is a billion dollar company who can easily afford to shove in a Cosworth v8, they are no Minardi. Plus it is regarded that the v10 has more torque which around Sakir gives it better traction out of the slow corners, aparently this is why Liuzzi is getting such great times. Also if the STR01 is faster than a RB02....well then obviously something has to give! Since the STR01 is basically a slightly modified RB01 it therefore in theory should not be faster than a RB02...

Still these are just test times and I reserve my judgement till at the minimum qualifying...

I think Super Aguri are great, I know they will never win, but as Brits I thought we would love to support the underdogs ;)
