Hello all,

I've decided to tighten up the rules of the Mix Club starting from this month.

From now on, you must ensure that your CD is send out in time so that the recipient recieves it before the end of the month. If not, you will be added to a late senders list and barred from taking part the following month. This effectively gives you another month to put a CD together. If again, at the end of the second month you have still not sent a CD you will be banned from taking part in any CD Mix Clubs. Leeway will be given when sending to participants abroad. Exceptions will apply.

Ill be posting the sending order list a week before the end of each month (as I have been doing already), giving people a week to identify who hasn't sent a CD out and to give those a bit of a push. I'm hoping these change will be taken as by all as positive steps towards a more reliable Mix Club. Comments appriecated.

In the new system the late senders below would be barred from this months:

If you are in any of these lists by accident (quite likely with the non-senders) then a PM to me will sort things out.

How does this work?

Every month you make a CD of whatever music you wish, which you send to another forumite. Everyone also receives a CD of music from another different forum member. A PM will be sent to everyone taking part (normally a week into the month) with the name & address of the forum member you must send a CD to.

Can I join in?

Sure. If you want to join in just send a PM to me with your name & address and you'll be added to the list. Currently I'm restricting this to people who live in Europe. Any further afield would probably affect the sending and recieving of CDs within the tight timeframe.

If you have taken part before then I won't need your address, so a simple reply to this topic or a PM will suffice.

Any rules to what sort of CD?

Nope, you are free to send whatever music you wish, and CD length can be as short or as long as you like. However please burn a CD of music and not MP3s as not everyone can playback mp3 CDs easily.

ohh im in again this month, but i would like to ask if whoever draws me could get it to me before the 18th of april as after that I'm back in Italy. If that's too much, no shakes, I'll just have to wait a while to get it.

Do these new rules take international shipping times in account? I was late last month, but even if I sent it out a week earlier it might not have arrived before today.

-edit- I see something about leeway. I haven't got a clue what it means, but it suppose I can be a bit of a slacker.

Thats right, but you only sent it yesterday so it wouldn't have got here today even in UK post (which takes 1-2 days). But essentially if you sent it say five days before the end of the month, then Id see that as acceptable even if your recipient won't get it until well into the next month.

However, you're welcome to take part again this month - these new rules are effective from this month onwards.

So anyway, I was thinking that next month we could perhaps do a theme challenge of some sort. It wouldn't be compulsory but we could try and pick a theme or a specific subject and then try and come up with mix cds on it. Probably done it in the past but I've only been in on this whole thing for about 8 or 9 months.

Wow, new tighter rules - took a while to kick in, but most welcome.

I think I may do next months one. I haven't taken part in this for like, over a year or so and when I actually got my CD they were great.

I shall spend the next few weeks coming up with a mix concept ;)
