Cheers Tyler.

To be fair the original article does sound pretty cheap and shitty.

Anyway, I will be watching some of the Cup. Probably the final run in as much as anything.

It's a shame they finish with singles, in my opinion. As a team event, I've always wished they would finsih with fourballs. I guess it wouldn't be quite so tense perhaps. I just find that, like with the 2002 at the Belfry (with Paul Mcginley holing the 'winning' putt), everyone focuses on one person at the end of it. Which is a shame.

Yeah but I like the massive pressure it creates.

And I'm not really a golf fan so I'm being selfish :( .

Well Tiger in the water off the first. I felt sorry for him really, first time I've seen him visibly nervous on the tee.

I don't think he looked nervous, just focused and tired.

I don't know how the BBC website described that shot as a Shank though. Some people just LOVE IT when he's not playing his best, especially when it's only really his putting that's been poor this morning.

2-2 after the morning session i'd wager. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to play Stewart Cink and JJ Henry at all, let alone together, is clearly insane.

I'd say it's more than his putting especially by his standards but his putting has been awful. Did you see the footage on the putting greens before the tee off? He was missing very short putts there. And he's just knocked it in the water again with a short iron. He NEVER does this.

Admittedly it's not just Tiger, a few players have been in the water today with the play being more aggressive in fourballs.

I agree about the people revelling in him playing badly, it's just sad. There's nothing I enjoy more in golf than watching Tiger at his best, it's awesome. He's just not at it today. It's sporadic though, he has hit some quality shots aswell but Jim is the one holding them together just now.

Despite that his that Tiger has won 3 of the 4 holes they have won? <_<

I agree though, when Tiger's messed up it's nice to have someone as good as Jim to save the day! GO AMERICA!

He does do this though - The memorial 3rd round springs to mind - it's just that, anyone else playing off their game would suddenly be shooting high 70's today. I truly, truly hate golf commentary. They just get so excited when he plays poorly.

(My comments were based on the front 7 or 8 holes as I'd missed the turn.)

Yeah, it's that Tiger can recover from these bad shots with a ridiculous recovery shot that's the difference. Plus he very rarely gets into a bad run, he'll just birdie the next if he messes up. And you're right, it shows just how good he is that he's winning holes when percieved to be playing off form.

edit: and now Monty and Jim are in the water!

Normally I would agree with you, but for three days every two years I want him to miss every fairway, land in every bunker and sink the ball into every water hazard. So I am enjoying this.

5-3 then at the end of todays play. Looking good for Europe! C'mon!!!

A lead of two is nothing in this format. You should be gutted to walk away 5-3 when we only won ONE match all day - that's practically as bad as it could have been for you.

Tomorrow will be a turnaround, then it'll come to the singles. Man to man, I think it's going to be tight, depending on the order of play of course. Brett isn't going to be thrashing anyone.
