I've been watching since 9am. Tiger's looking solid, though he just squeaked par on the 10th and has hit a poor approach to 11 as I'm typing this. He could have been -2 after the first two holes but slid them by.

Everyone was tipping KJ Choi before today and it seems they may have been on to something. Goosen leads at the moment though.

Brother didn't get in for the first time in three years, so I'll not really be watching. Can't believe they've made the course a tad easier this time, hope he weather is a bastard to make up for it!

Brother reckons Tiger should walk it.

I walked the course last weekend and he only difference I noted was they had cut the rough back from "deep jungle" to "not quite so deep jungle".

The weather is pretty stinking up here so I dont think anyone will get an easy ride.

Cheers toonfool.

So, can Tiger possibly lose today?

-7 T Woods

-4 S Ames

-3 W Austin

-2 J Senden

-1 E Els

Shame Ernie threw away a few shots the past two days, I'd have loved to see him and Tiger go head to head today.

And what about Garcia? Being disqualified isn't the best remedy to what happened at Carnoustie.

Bit of an early bump, but it's the masters next weekend, my second favourite tournament of the year. Maybe even favourite. It's just so pretty, and BBC coverage, so I don't have to listen to Jonnie fucking Miller. I suppose on the other side of the coin I DO have to listen to Sam fucking Torrence, the worst commentator in the history of sport.

Has anyone been watching any of the golf this year? Tyler, anyone? I've never seen anything like it, from Tiger at least.

As an aside, I may try and organise a golf meet. The last one never got off the ground though.

I really should start playing again ^_^

You should, especially now that the weather is all getting lovely again. I love being out on the course, either playing a game or practicing on the driving range or practice greens. Hopefully I'll have my license in a month, and then I'll start my own tour in an attempt to play every course in Holland!

Can't wait for the Masters. My favourite sporting event, period. Wanted to take the days off work but I'm bloody booked up already. ^_^

Sounds like the perfect time to organise a meet. ;)

I'm tempted to say i'ts my favourite, but there's something about the British open...Maybe because i've actually been to it. I have the Friday off, naturally. Can't wait.

I like that they're timely and stuff, but really, I can't stand reading the 'jokes' and 'comment' they put around it at all. Blargh fury. Wish guardian.co.uk were doing live updates as well...

(edit, err, the web text updates that is, I like the BBC's TV coverage of the golf I do)

I guess i've just learned to love the BCC commentary from the football. I quite like the participation and the nonsense.

But yeah, Peter Alliss is the greatest commentator across any sport. Only balanced out by the torture of having to listen to old Sam.

Indeed.

Last time I went to the open my brother was in it!, if he makes it again this year I'm fucking there all week!. Simply untold.

Not long till the BBC 2 coverage starts ;) Its like a tradition for me watching every year. The only sport programme I'm actually interested in.

So any news on what the course will be like this year? Last time it was dry and way too fast making for some very boring golf.
