I'm finding myself increasingly tempted by this as well, but the lack of any real firsthand experience or review has me more than a tad worried.

I like the idea of episodic presentation; I like the Central (hur, hur) premise of Carnby's being trapped in and around the Park; I like action adventure games; I like horror games and I've even swung over toward the musty spectrum-periphery of interactive movies more times then you'd care to imagine so I suppose it follows that this looks as though it could be right up my admittedly niche cul-de-sac.

I'd certainly welcome at least some vague indication that the game's likely to be a competent showing of any one of the above before placing a pre-order, though.

EDIT: Apparently we could be seeing a pre-release demo soon. That'll do nicely.

Just watched Playr on Bravo and they gave this a fairly positive review. Apart from some gripes over the controls and a few random puzzles, they generally thought it was pretty good. Certainly looked pretty decent from what was shown. It got 8 arcade cabinets out of 10, which I guess is good.

I doubt it's going to be a AAA game like GTA4 or MGS4, but it could be a fairly solid and enjoyable B-game. Looking forward to it.

Got a promo through today. I'll get a couple of hours in later I hope. Damn weiner missus is off work so she'll be yelping to watch time team or some shit, no doubt.

I've got a promo of this. I played the first bit which was quite good, then skipped a bit to see how the 'previously on...' worked and tried another level which was absolutely awful. Hoping to play more tonight, but early impressions suggest it's a little inconsistent. I agree with the opinion that the character doesn't really look like part of the world at times.

Didn't quite get the couple of hours in that I had previously envisioned.

Had about a half hour. I left a fire extinguisher in a room and couldn't get it back thus scuppering any progress.

Flaw.

Restarted and sorted it. I hope this shit doesn't happen later on, I'll be so upset if I have to restart again.

Left the game when I was hanging from a gargoyle with some building in flames.

The control system appears to be for shit at the minute (like a sub-par Cold Fear, I'm upset to say) but I am drawn back tomorrow, I reck. Despite it pissing me around, I feel a need to know what happens next.

I preordered this when I bought GTA4. They charged me for both so I can't cancel. It was only 25 quid though so I may be able to make the money back. though I was really hoping it would just, y'know, be good :ph34r:

Is this not due out on Friday, no reviews, nothing, I wonder if Eurogamers feature is a bit of a dig at it?

.::: It's already out here. Strangely enough only the Wii had a Limited Edition version. And of course the PS3 version is to be delayed till autumn or something. Think I'll wait for reactions to that one in the hope that some of the awkwardness is gone.

It's fucking rubbish. It has a few really good ideas wrapped in an incredibly rough package.

The scariest thing you'll find in the game is the constant battle you'll have with the controls and camera. I've only played about two hours and it's only become more of an issue.
