Super Mario Galaxy on the way for Wii

Well, you don't have to like it, but that's my opinion. There must be a reason why I haven't bothered playing Galaxy in 2 weeks or so now (got up to 104 stars)?

Indeed, it must be a right stinker for you to stick with it for 104 stars and to play 10 hour sessions at a time as I think you previously stated. Pull you finger out Nintendo and give bcass his rose-tinted spectacles so he can get the magic back.

You want a galaxy on a stick you do.

Same here. I blame XBox Live.

Interesting. I agree with you in some respects, I believe the future of gaming lies online for the most part - it's inherently far more compelling either competing or co-operating with other people, AI is a poor substitute. I will likely sink far more hours into, say, COD4 on live than I will Galaxy. I'd still say in absolute terms that Galaxy is the better game though, however contradicory that may sound.

If COD4 is the future of gaming, I'm going to have to get a new hobby.

Nintendo don't need my sympathy, and it's not like they're relying on its success, but seeing SMG not dominating the charts makes me feel deeply sad. Assassin's Creed, for fucks sake.

Yeah, I wish those Goomba's were contolled by humans. Also the grunts from Halo

IMO having Cosmic Mario set to a certain skill level & follow the same path is far better than the unpredictable or unbeatable performance if he was controlled by another player.

Help please. I finished the last Bowser battle and rescued the princess, but had to switch channels during the credits (whilst still leaving them running in the background).

When I could return to the game I was back on the hub level and still getting letters from Peach saying she knew I was going to rescue her etc...did I miss a cut-scene explaining this or is it just a daft bit of design?

Ah man you missed the best twist in videogames history.

Turns out Peach is the evil master totally controling everything Mario does buy saying 'would you kindly...' before every instruction.

To show this amazing power over Mario she forces him to kill her, 'Would you kindly beat me to death with the fludd device?'.

Dont forget that white sticky goo the fludd now uses.

No, I didn't say that COD4 is the future of gaming - nor did I suggest that goombas should be human controlled, that's just lunacy. I just suggested that online multiplayer will dominate gaming in the relatively near future. Not that there isn't room for games like Galaxy, certainly there's always room for games like Galaxy.

Got this today and so far it's only OK.

Stopped playing it because I got stuck. I'm at the bit where there is a giant plant monster thing at the start of the first galaxy. Don't know what to do so just gave up.

Heres a hint:

Sell the Wii and give up on gaming. Theres no hope for you.

Well, I've never actually played a 3D Mario before, and I think the fact that I'm not the genre's biggest fan is hampering my enjoyment of the game.

.::: Basically everything that's big and deformed has some use. Everything that can be used stands out. Also, let go of the Rare-feeling and experiment instead of waiting for a bubble with text to pop up explaining you what to do. If you can't find enjoyment in trying stuff out yourself, then stop with Galaxy as quickly as possible, because it'll be hell once you get passed that thing.

Why do you have to jump on the plant though?

Spin attack worked on the one before that.

.::: That was a wind up. If you are at the Purple Piranha plant, either knock him directly with a spin attack, or spin attack the green globules next to it into him.

If you are fighting Dino Piranha spin attack his tail.

But if either of these solutions didn't occur to you, then something is a bit wrong.
