Super Mario Galaxy on the way for Wii

This looks really good - the familiarity of Mario 64 with a bit more gloss and a few new twists. Call me old fashioned, but that's enough to get me excited. Does remind me of Sonic Adventure in parts but not sure if that's a bad thing.

I think I'll be in the minority here, but I hope the game works with the GC controller...

The beauty of having levels made up of smaller, open, rotating planets, all viewed from a reasonable distance, is it should remove the camera woes that blighted the latter stages of SMS.

Christ, I hadn't even thought of that. It looks like any angle issues will be destroyed by the small rotating planets and singular, slightly more linear, objectives in slightly bigger levels. Awesomeness.

Perhaps they should make Mario the unemployed plumber who want to spend more time on his space stuff as it is his secret hobby.

In other words make Mario you?

Mario Galaxy: Two Players?

Way to find a way to increase excitement for this game, Nintendo. Yeah, thanks.

If Wii.com is to be believed (it is rather official, after all), Mario Galaxy is a two player gig. What does this mean? Co-op? Could a second player, pending the successful and perilous exchange of friend codes, play as Luigi or any other number of selectable, unlockable characters alongside Mario in the single player quest?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe they're going to throw a dozen minigames in, and they're multiplayer. Or maybe it's just a mistake.

But hopefully it's not! Fingers crossed, everyone, I'm sure if we all wish super-hard we can make this happen. Luke Plunkett

UPDATE: Here's an IGN article I missed from last year's E3 discussing, albeit vaguely, two player Mario Galaxy: "I think we'll be more inclined to do cooperative style of play".

Why wouldn't it be a two player mode?

You're just passing one part of the controller to a friend, it wouldn't "play" any different to single player. I'm not saying they couldn't do anything with it, specifically for two players, but I doubt they will. They'll just put some mini games in there and leave the rest up to us.
