Super Mario Galaxy on the way for Wii

I really hope they show it off properly next week. I'll be furious if they push it to the side a bit to focus on more casual stuff.

How furious? Tell us!

I can't help but feel that they'll cheat somehow. But I remain hopeful.

They may possiblly do something similar to the globe in Civ 4 where the map doesn't fully wrap around the sphere and keeps shifting as you move around it.

I actually meant you waft it away by flapping the wii remote in the required direction - like a sweeping motion. But blowing in a microphone could work too.

Was this whole "the speaker is actually a microphone too" thing actually confirmed?!

I'm positive that it has, a search on google should confirm it for you.

Hmm, the closest thing I could find is this.

a recent CNN/Fortune feature has now revealed that the remote actually contains some of the necessary hardware, although it's so far gone unused. Specifically, the Wiimote packs a $2 chip described as an "audio translator," which CNN says "converts analog data such as human speech into a digital data stream." That would obviously also require a microphone, one of which has already been announced, although that one (designed for use with EA's forthcoming Boogie game) will apparently connect directly to the Wii's USB port, not the Wiimote itself.

I read that as no, it doesn't include one, but I could be wrong. ^_^

Edit - Sorry, I don't mean to "derail" the thread. I was just curious, that's all.

Don’t want to head into space alone? With a second Wii Remote, another player can play alongside by pointing at and collecting bits of stardust, then launching them at enemies. The second player can even sweep aside projectiles or stall enemies to help make Mario’s adventure easier.

Game of the show for me. Looks absolutely stunning and crazily imaginative.

Also has co-op basically been confirmed now? I've noticed parts of the videos have two star cursors on the screen. I think the second player can help the main player out by shooting at enemies. Sounds a bit boring, I doubt I'd use it but it could be nice for kids to help their parents or something.

Bit disappointed by the graphics in that trailer but it looks great to play.

I want this for Christmas, please. Please?

Disappointed? How so? Given the style they're clearly going for, I'm not sure how the gfx could be improved (see: Wind Waker).
