Super Mario Galaxy on the way for Wii

I thought Nintendo's show was shit and the line-up of the Wii depresses me to no end, but this game is probably the best looking game of the show. It's lovely.

Yep Nintendo's show was abysmal but this is the best thing I've seen. For all the people going on about how amazing Call of Duty 4 or Killzone looks graphically, this has impressed me the most. Like El Geet says, it's solid. So colourful and vibrant, plus his bumble bee flight is all wobbly. I'm in love.

Disappointed? How so? Given the style they're clearly going for, I'm not sure how the gfx could be improved (see: Wind Waker).

It looks so empty with those empty and often dark backgrounds.

The stills look very vibrant and full of stuff, but in the trailer it seems the only thing you see is where you have to jump to next without any environment around it.

But maybe that's just the bits of the game they showed.

Bit disappointed by the graphics in that trailer but it looks great to play.

I was impressed. Stylistically they have the old Mario charm that Sunshine largely missed, and they look technically better than your average Gamecube game, which is reason alone to be cheerful.

Amazing. Seeing Mario in that bee suit brings back fond memories of discovering the frog suit and other hilarious power-ups in SMB3. I really hope they delay it to make sure it's the best game ever.

indeed, hope its as good as mario3. Excited about the Boo suit too

Oh I haven't been this excited about a game in ages it looks like they've taken all the best bits of Mario 64 and Sunshine and crossed them with World and Bros III. This game looks spectacular and with the contols being now totally different I'm hoping this will will outdo Mario 64. Five G's of anticipation! Boo to the naysayers! Now I just need to get a Wii.

I kind of agree.

When Mario 64 came out it did look graphically aces.

This looks like Mario 64 - and there's not an awful lot extra to that. Okay, so, yes there is if you look in finer detail, but you guys know what I mean. Not a lot of impressive lighting affects, bog standard textures, and...it's Mario 64 but in space, but not quite as cute. Cos you're zoomed out and it's taking the action away from Mario a bit perhaps.

I dunno. We'll see on this one...the screenshots look better than in game stuff.

I'm happy now I've heard its set to be out before (or for, most likely) Christmas. Had started to really think it was going to be delayed into next year...

The Bee Suit, the Boo Suit, properly trippy looking environments - can't play this soon enough.

(Oh, they could do a Baa Suit - Space sheep!)

Some of the play areas and power ups have a distinctly retro feel - I wonder if the awesomeness of new super mario bros. for the DS has rubbed off onto this team.

Also, it looks like there is a different flying power up for each world - bee for the garden, boo for the haunted house. Hope there are a load more.
