Super Mario Galaxy on the way for Wii

I played the same demo, along with three other levels. Did a surprising discovery there: it was a bit less fun than what I expected. I wanted it to be stunning, amaze me - but no.

Why? It was easy. Sure, I fell off a cliff a couple of times when walking around on some tiny planet with a black hole in the middle, but that was the only challenge. I had a bit of fun swinging Mario from planet to planet with those blue star thingies, and shooting orbs was cool, but that was it. I think Miyamoto has really kept his word by saying 'I will make more games more accessible and fun for starters'. And that's a bad thing for me.

So I'm a bit disappointed at the moment  Like I said: it was fun, but not as much as you'd expect. At least it won't be as revolutionary as Super Mario 64 like this. I'm hoping it was just this demo that didn't manage to impress me, and that the final version will. Keeping my fingers crossed.

This is exactly what I was afraid of.

Bloody casual gamers! *shakes fist*

as the VC is demonstrating to me...

I'm too rubbish for Super Mario Bros and Super Mario World...

Shigsy did say that the difficulty balance has been his biggest concern.. he wants to make it easy enough for new gamers to be able to play, but difficult enough for us hardcores.

I suspect getting 120 shines is going to be quite a challenge - and a good one. Not a blue coin based SMS fiasco.

I don't think it's really fair to judge the difficulty based on the demo. It will have been purposely easy for the so that everyone can get a feel for it. It's too early to judge something like that. And anyway, did you play the cookie factory level? It looks pretty hard in videos.

Objection!

Contradiction in this testimony. Highlighted.

Also the witness seems to be insinuating that, since he was both too rubbish for fully completing Mario World as well as Mario Sunshine, that they are comparable. Ahem.

the music from that demoo is to zelda-ay.

Was'nt it accused earlier in the thread of being too Starfox-ay?

IMO it fit's the space-based flipped-out gravity action perfectly, & I hope other levels have tunes as good.

The way IGN are covering this, those levels are going to be anything but secret by the time the game is released.

I'm not clicking that link.

I said 'secret' not secret. One of them has been shown in screens and another played through on a video. But if you're on a total media ban then I'll just say this:

Mario has mustachio!
