Metroid Prime: Corruption

From the looks of the video, it still has the lock-on combat mechanism which is a good thing. I love the idea of pulling shields off enemies with the control stick whilst firing at different enemies with the remote. Sounds fab!

It looks like it's really more about the action this time, I can see a lot more platformbits this time around, and ofcourse better action. Maybe this will satisfy Cyhwuhx? :) I like this as much as Mario Gravity.

Bah too much action for a Metroid game.

Where's the exploration, the isolation, the dread?

.:::... the FUCKING-OMG-GOD-GOT-ONLY-TWO-MINUTES-TO-GET-OUT-OF-THE-FUCKING-PLANET-NEED-LESS-ACTION!!!

That Metroid?

Or the one where you get a giagntic beam to shoot a mech-chicken into infinity?

Or the one where you kill a giant monster by shooting missiles in his MOUTH to get him to dorp into lava?

Action is part of Metroid, it's not meant as a pure FPS though.

Also I'm buying this on the strength of the new Grapple Beam alone.

The graphics look swish, the worlds look more colourful and the camera was spazzing out loads. Apart from the graphics, it looks as if Retro got hold of the Wiimote only a few weeks ago. Needs shitloads of tuning.

It's going to be brilliant, but it looks horrendous as a Metroid game. Granted, we've seen very little so far, but where's the atmosphere? Where's the oppressive, cavernous, biological environment (perhaps unfamiliar to you Tallon IV fans)? Everything's fucking metallic, for starters.

For enders, actually. I'd better not get into this.:lol:

NEW VIDEO

Low quality vid alert. The guy seems to have a hard time controlling it. At least you can still lock-on. The environments look good though and the the grapple beam  .

EDIT: Here's a rapidshare link to a much better version. Courtesy of NeoGaf and jeux-france.

Retro stipulated the inclusion of the nunchuk module, so I'm guessing they've had access to the tech for a while. Fingers crossed.

I'm sooo looking forward to this. I like the old skool logo design too.

.::: But the old-skool logo IS great. Besides it has an old-school Ridley! Now give us Kraid and Zee Mozza Brain and we're all set!

Except if they actually manage to NOT include the eponymous creatures (which they already did with Hunters BTW).

The trailer would be easier to follow if it didn't cut away to the guy operating the controller every 3 seconds.

o/\o

Yeah, get over the controller already please!

Didn't see the thread (teh ignored), thought is was a bit quiet now the trailer was out. Looks like good fun. Metroid rewards the player well for that little bit of perseverance, looking forward to a new one. Man, it's gonna be a long wait until release :D
