i've played this to completion on my two week holiday and loved every moment. the controls are weird to get to grips with but to me that's the whole point of the game, that's where the skill lies in learning and mastering them. i did get the sense i was moving around this massive ball of stuff which by it's very nature would be a bit awkward as it grows and gets heavier. i don't understand criticisms of only having 6 mins play time or whatever because a) it's a portable version for gaming on the move, breaking it down into small chunks seems logical and b ) once you've maxed out any level you are free to play it to your heart's content in eternal mode.

it's the best game i've played in ages and to coin an old cliche, made me remember what i've loved about videogames. and that's what it is pure and simple; a videogame.

I got this recently, but the controls make it impossible to play. I've used the nub and the d pad in combo with the buttons, including L and R, but its such a pain. I play a level and I see the counter going down, telling me to hurry up, but I'm still wrestling with the controls. This has been my first introduction to katamari and has really put me off the series.

You should've gotten We heart Katamari first. It's much more of a proper introduction into what katamari is and how to play it. The psp version is more for people who are already fans of the game.

Not really it was my only chance to play Katamari was the PSP version. I loved it once I got rid of the claw hand

Unfortunately I dont have a ps2 so the psp version is my only choice. The sad thing is that I know there is a good game there. I like the world, I like the concept and it looks to be a good handheld game. The only problem is I can't interact with it the way I want. Oh well I'm going to plump for killzone: liberations instead.

I still haven't managed to do one of the early levels, the ant one where you have to make a sweet katamari for the queen, the king of all cosmos keeps saying my katamari is sour, I've tried being really picky and only picking up sweets but it always turns out sour, any tips people?

I wasn't even aiming for picking up particular items and just tried to pick up absolutely everything and got it first try. You've propbably already tried this but perhaps just aim for getting a large katamari as opposed to any specific type, Since the majority of items in the level are sweets anyway, it shouldn't matter.

Cheeko, did you figure this out? I got the game for Christmas and I'm stuck on this one too. I tried running around and picking everything up, and I tried only picking up sweets, but it doesn't seem to like either way (and I'm almost certain I didn't pick up a single non-sweet on the last run). I wonder if it's just quite difficult and you have to get to a certain size while only picking up sweets, even though it doesn't tell you that.

A bit late to the party I know but I'm enjoying it - I played a friend's We Love Katamari back in September and have been meaning to get hold of it ever since. A very satisfying thing, rolling everything up :(
