Ahh yes, you're not on the list for some reason yet you did post. An ajustment is needed. One second...

Maybe you hated the CD I did you *that much* that your brain edited out my post.

Right, I placed you into a random point in the list and changed one persons sendee to you. All good.

I'm in please. ;)

Oh man, I'm all done. If willing, Robbo could do a swap to swap with you but that'd be entirely upto him. Sorry man :o

EDIT: Or sender_x -> Robbo -> GT -> sender_y if you like. Upto you really Robbo.

strawdonkey, you lucky lucky fella - I shall be providing you with this month's musical goodness.

I'm lost for ideas this month so you get to tell me what you want. Options:

1. you post 4 images and I'll try and match some music to them. If one image is particularly strong I'll base the whole cd around it, if not then I'll do a few tracks for each piccy.

2. my recent favourite tracks, no theme at all

3. the classic (but predictable) June cd of summer vibes

4. you tell me......

Let me know what you want and I'll get to work on it.

Yeah, I'll do one for GT if that's easiest. I'm all for inclusion.

My CD is in the post. Superspeed.

01. It's little Jamie Liddell. Woo! Summer! Etc!

02. Liked this a lot. Upbeat, fleeting vocals. Ace.

03. Samba. Sounds like Flaming Lips. If it is then I don't like it. Actually - bloody vocals spoil it, just not offensively so.

04. This is great. Mmmm, yeah. Favourite so far. The structure, percussion, everything.

05. I *knew* there'd be some nice soul stuff on your disc.

06. Oh yeah!

07. Errm...until the little drum break. I could grow to like this. Maybe.

08. :D

09. Sounds like Lily Allen... but I dunno. Nice dude. Something slightly sinister about it.

10. Little MJ? Have to admit to wanting to hurry this along ever so slightly...

11. :D times 100. It's a dud. No matter - track 11 won't exist to me

Most consistently brilliant CD I've ever received. Its going to get a lot of spins I can tell thee. No flab, Inch-perfect. Prehaps the balance between upbeat pop/slow motown is wrong way for my liking but still, Top stuff ojlim. It's made me want to polish mine up in terms of flow this month - mines positively embarassing next to yours :(

Right, I'm off to play tracks 4 and 9 again a few times over.

Here's the tracklist:

01. Multiply - Jamie Lidell

02. 7/4 (Shoreline) - Broken Social Scene

03. Northern Lites - Super Furry Animals. I got this off the mix CD I received last month

04. Bouncy Ball - Ladyfuzz. Great tune, shame about the rest of their album.

05. Going In Circles - Friends Of Distinction. I might stick this in the soul thread, it's fucking awesome.

06. Hey There Lonely Girl - Eddie Holman. What a vocal performance.

07. Daddy's Car - The Cardigans. One of my faves off one of the best summer albums ever (Life)

08. Tell Me What You Want - The Pipettes. Obviously you know this.

09. Everything's Just Wonderful - Lily Allen. Great tune, shame about the rest of her album.

10. Who's Lovin' You - Jackson 5. Play this song by itself on repeat, MJ's singing is fucking unreal.

11. Twilight - Elliott Smith. DUD?! I can't believe it. I guess it's a pretty depressing drug song though.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. It was basically a revamped version of CD I made for a non-musical friend, so I took off lots of stuff that everyone on the forum has heard. I guess you have a point about the soul songs being a out of step (they were the replacement songs, after all), but give them all a spin in their own right. They're fucking tunes.

And with that, goodbye Mix CD club! it's been fun. (Oh wait, I still have a CD coming..)

Ooh. Ill have to check them out I think.
09. Everything's Just Wonderful - Lily Allen. Great tune, shame about the rest of her album.
Really? Smile and LDN are pretty quality but I can fully imagine it being a filler-affair.

Emotive songs take lots of time to work on me - theres only really a handful that do anything to me.

You got the wrong end of the stick - It all fits fine but theres more soul stuff than pop stuff...slightly  I can't emphanise enough how much you nailed it this month for me.

Only 4 soul songs!

Soul and pop are the same thing to me anyway. Well, the best soul is pop to my ears.

Oh yeah, Smile is pretty good, but the rest of the album didn't catch me. The first few songs were okay I suppose. Definitely talented though.
