DS Download stations

Well, we had ours activated then as soon as the dude left it stopped working (couldn't retrieve data or some such shit). They're boxes with lots of DS's with (what I assume) modified carts with the data on. If you turn the black boxes off the DS's run down and then you can't turn them back on because you have to get someone from Nintendo to open them. As I understand it anyway.

I don't really like how they do this via pods. There aren't even any pods around here anymore.

The download stations aren't the same as the playable demo pods, as far as I know. I must go and try out some of the Oxford ones, if they're working.

I was wondering, how much space does the DS have to store these? And can you delete them later?

It deletes as soon as you turn the machine off, so you can only get one at a time. I've currently got the Trauma Centre one which i grabbed yesterday, so my DS is existing in sleep mode. I can't do the second operation at all.

They certainly ramped the difficulty up rather a lot between the two ...

I went up to London on Friday and found two stations on Oxford Street, but neither of them seemed to be working. Gah.

The one in HMV by Bond St definitely works.

Anyone else trying these download stations, don't make the same mistake I just did this lunchtime:

I started DS Download Play from the DS main menu, waited for it to search, saw the DS Download Station Volume 1, clicked on it, and then when the DS menu disappeared and was replaced by a splash screen, I closed the DS to put it in sleep mode, so that I could take a proper look back home, as I assumed it had finished loading (sorry, I've never done Download Play before so I dunno how quick it is!). It turns out that it hasn't finished loading at this point so my trip to town was a waste.

Still, I can confirm that the Download Station in eplay in Oxford is at least switched on.

The list that's doing the rounds suggests that Playtime Multimedia in Sheffield have one. They don't. Bloke in there said he'd get one in if they took away the PSP one so they had space. Sure. Mr Sony PR South Yorkshire's gonna go for that one...

Nearest one now is Playtime in Rotherham I believe. Blinking flip.
