Snow Storm is easy enough. If you die, just taxi it back to the hospital. Simple. 'Waste Not Want Knot' is a fucking hassle, though. You can't take a taxi so you have to drive across the city every time; Packie and his cronies are fucking noobs who keep dying and jumping in the way of my fire; the respawning enemies inside the warehouse make it a whole lot harder and frustrating than it should be.

At least I did it.

Alquon- Manhattan is really this games standout island, the missions are increased in scale and size, and the drama is properly stepped up.

Running through that building site

taking down the site managers, and then launching a rocket at the helicopter that was coming in to land, cutting off the last guys escape attempt

, or in the U.L. Paper helicopter mission

, trying to stay level with the target while Little Jacob launched missiles at it.

I only fear I haven't got much left, I'm enjoying it so much that I'm rationing it out.

Does anyone else get pop-in during the actual cutscenes? Can't say I've ever seen it in other games before.

Yep, only on one or two of them though. I had one that was really bad where there was pop in everytime the camera changed.

I'm a bit puzzled about shooting from bikes. You press LB and Niko starts firing immediately. Is there no way to aim before he starts firing?

Yes. Press LB and the crosshairs come up. Just use the right stick to aim it and fire.

Pop in is horrible on the 360 I'm playing on. I walked into a building and it was completely bare for a second before everything showed up (including walls).

I'm starting to think that might be down to the actual Xbox you have rather than the console in general. My Elite hasn't done anything like that in fact I can only recall a couple of instances of slowdown/framerate issues and they were barely a second at best. Everything else has been fine.

I've no doubt that it's the machine. The most annoying thing is that it's a replaced Elite that can't be any more than 2 months old.

Never seen it that bad. I'm thinking different dvd drives (maybe brands) obviously deal with the pop up to different degrees.

Yeah, I've had the whole "building interior pop-in" thing quite a bit. It was particularly bad in Brucie's garage. My Xbox is an old-timer by normal standards, though, having been purchased just under 2 years ago.

He fires in whatever direction the camera is pointing. So yes, aim with the right stick first.

Saying my mother is shit is simply constructive and fairly put across, yeah.

Yes, that was me arguing seriously.

That wasn't me taking the piss out of your trolling efforts and pastiching your insistence that the discussion should be reduced to the base level of 'you're shit' in any way.

See also: it was after, and obviously an appropriate response to, the comment of yours which Kerraig had picked out, so he in fact had never referred to it as 'constructive and fairly put across' at all.

Of course, I now accept that any criticism of a game is to be met simply and succinctly with 'you're shit' and that there is to be no further discussion on the matter.

I don't have many framerate issues but the pop-in can be a bit annoying. I'm playing it on a 10 day old machine so I doubt it's the drive. I find trees are particularly bad for it. Or say I drive along the pier on a motorbike, bins and stuff will fade in not too far in front of me. Never caused me much trouble really, apart from once when I crashed because of it.

Anyway just had a LOL moment. Doing the 3rd Francis mission I got the impression that getting out of there alive would be a big ask so I walked around the alleys for a bit and came across a crane, climbed up it and sniped the guy. Mission over, I felt like Agent 47. Walking back along the crane like a badass I totally forget that there's a ladder somewhere nearby and plummet down the hole to my death. :D The game is best when it lets you do stuff like this, not when it prompts you to death like during the lawyer interview.

Also, can someone tell me if you can smash Ricky Gervais' head in?

I just watched his first routine, the one with all the cancer and AIDS jokes. Horribly unfunny stuff. Give me the songs about transexuals and alien abduction from the cabaret club anyday :D

See I actually found that cancer and aids shit pretty funny. I've not really seen his stand up before either though.

ha! I just went to the airport and got swamped with police. Unfortunately, there were no planes to steal - speaking of which, where in Bohan etc are there heliwobblers to steal?

Scour that map in the box!! :D

ARGH so annoyed. One mission left and 29:50. I never even care about acheivements normally. So amazingly irritating!

There's an achievement that rewards you for rushing through the game like I normally do and not taking your time to soak in the atmosphere like I am doing at the moment and it cuts off at 30hrs?

Well shit on my tits. That's annoying.

Well yes, but police and security guards don't seem to bother using cover really, they just charge suicidally at you, which usually ends up worse for me than them when there's lots of them, especially when I'm in cover and I'm fiddling around trying to unlock from it.

One of the cool things I noticed was that when the coppers get tired of waiting for you to come out and charge themselves, they shout out great lines like "tell my mother i love her" and "geronimo!", which makes it cool in my book. (",)

I couldn't give less of a shit really. Having said that, I do intend on running through it again with the achievement as my excuse for playing it like a complete murderous bastard instead of soaking up the atmosphere and being polite and shit :D

This may have been mentioned before so forgive me but just took a little jaunt to the airport. They've done a great job - the sounds of the taxiing aircraft and the workers going about their business create an excellent atmosphere. I did notice one thing - the aircraft don't actually land and take off do they? Just found that a bit jarring after all the effort put in.

I suppose it's nothing really in the grand scheme of things. Onto the third island now and it's still got me completely hooked. I'd echo what people have said about the missions not really evolving from the previous games which is a bit of a shame but the city is just so well put together that it doesn't really bother me. Also anyone finding the city layout a lot easier to learn than previous games - I think its because it's so much more detailed now I can make out junctions and areas better.
