I've searched for an answer to this strange plot-related thing, but no joy. I guess it's a spoiler if you haven't done the mission for Elisabeta called "The Snow Storm" :

When Michelle reveals herself to be "working for the government", and demands that Niko and Little Jacob hand over Elisabeta's coke, why do they do it? It's just Michelle on her own in an alley, making vague claims about being some kind of snitch or whatever. Just seemed weird to me. Given Niko and Jacob's M.O. up to that point, I would have expecting them to shoot her in the face.

Because if they shot her then they would have the people she works for come after them. She makes a deal for them to work with her.

I can see that, but I think she needed some "muscle" with her or some way of proving that what she said was true. As it was, she just turned up in an alley and said "I work for the government, gimme the coke please", pretty much.

To be honest, I probably only noticed this because the rest of the plot is relatively tight, albeit in a GTA sort of way.

You DEFINITELY should have been able to whack Michelle, preferably "Adrianna style". I was so pissed off when Niko handed over the bag, I was expecting the cutscene to end with me lobbing her in the boot so I could drive to some shady woodland area or atleast the ability to pop her in the face so I choose.

Felt so cheated.

Same here, was trying this last night but like you said, the police turn up after you park a few cars together.

Apparently the best way is to

create a traffic jam near a petrol station and rocket launch a car to start a chain reaction.

For the chain reaction achievement,

I stole cars and lined up about eight side by side in the yellow parking space outside my safehouse in Bohan, facing the building, as tightly packed as I could. If you're careful and take your time, not straying too far from the area, you should avoid most police attention (and can use Kiki's special power as well). Then I blocked the road off with another couple of cars, waited until there was a queue of traffic and rolled a grenade under one of my parked cars. Job done and achievement get!!

I just did the mission "Wrong is Right". What a hateful piece of work that was - I assume from the repetition of traffic and events like the alleyway being blocked that the target is invincible up to a certain point (that and the fact I put four clips into his car). So if you arrive in an unsuitable car, or if you take one of the wrong turns the mission does its best to force you into, you have to go right back to entering the house and reading the bloody emails again, and you don't want to give the mission a break because success depends largely on memorising the chase route.

I did it in a cop car in the end, which kept others out of the way and did at least demonstrate the flexibility GTA4 can offer, but it's easily the worst mission I've played so far and one they should have been too ashamed to include.

When I finally got him, his car burst into flames and exploded immediately afterwards, so I slammed into the burning wreck and my own car caught fire. As I frantically jabbed the Y button I pondered the fact that if I died before I got the mission cleared message I'd be obliged to throw my 360 down the stairs, having first thrown it up. Luckily the game seemed to realise it had taken things as far as it was safe to.

I parked mine in the parking space outside the Bohan hideout. When I came back outside next time I played, the fucker was gone! ;)

That seems to be a dodgy space, like that one garage in Vice City you'd randomly lose cars from. Anything nice I get goes elsewhere. RIP my Futo :(

Got the Sentinel XS yesterday, that's a favourite. Do the 'track day' versions, for want of a better term, never show you the proper names when you get into them? Just shows up as a regular Sentinel when you get in it although obviously with a nice big spoiler and some awesome speed and handling stats.

Oh no - I've had one go on that mission so far (in a cop car too, no less!) and was a bit peeved to find that after being machine gunned holy hell, plus hitting my own car at such speed that they were catapulted into the side of a building, their car managed to race through traffic like a guided missile. The thought of repeating this mission does not please me.

Yeah, the target is like a slot car and recovers almost instantly from any ramming. It was actually pretty easy by the time I did it - you just need a decent car that doesn't slide around too much and knowledge of the one (as far as I'm aware) scripted blockage (a left turn into a side alley that gets blocked, once you know when it happens just drive on and take the next corner). There are some other, lesser set events too, like a bus that's always on the bridge and makes a gap you have to squeeze through, but they're not too bothersome. I don't know when he becomes vulnerable to fire but I got him after he'd crossed back to the central island.

Once you know he can't be killed at first you can focus on the driving and wait for an opportunity, but you shouldn't have to learn missions like that, especially when they abandon the usual game rules for no good reason.

I suppose the target might just be set to go a little faster than the car you're in, in which case a Faggio or garbage truck mght be easier than a performance vehicle...

Now that's an interesting thought. I think I've only seen a Faggio once in the entire game though! I don't think my Liberty City has a dealership.

I was messing around on the game before. I got myself a Bobcat, and before I started to drive it, I shot out all 4 tires. Driving around was ace fun, especially after all the tires came off and I was going around on the rims, sparks flying all over the show.

Give it a go.

Better yet, do it to the car your co-op or free-mode buddy is getting into. They won't notice while they're opening the door and settling in, and you can get at least the two back tyres in that time. Then, hide.

Exploit?

The cops don't follow you into the subway system, and can't see you down there. In this mission you fight your way out of the subway system (scripted cops down there) then are told to get home, with a 3 star police rating. Just turn back the way you came, back into the subway system, and calmly walk out of the police radius. Seeing as they made you escape from the subway I can't believe the designers considered going back down into the subway a legitimate tactic.

Wrong is Right took me one attempt. Mainly because I was in such a lame car that I could hardly keep up. I 'knew' I was going to fail because of the rubbish I was driving, so I was just following to see how long it would take before I was dropped.

What seemed like fifteen minutes later, I guess the target must have become so bored by the chase that death was preferable to continuing with it as he slowed right down. Which is when I peppered his car with the MP5 thing causing him to stop. I got out of the car with a security guard and police firing at me, and emptied two full clips into him through the windscreen before he finally died.

With a tiny bit of health bar remaining, my wanted status vanished and the cops started shooting at the security guard who was still firing at me. Being an idiot, I walked over to the security guard to watch him die, but the bastard shot and killed me. I took a trip to the hospital but kept the 'mission done' status which was nice, as I didn't want to go through all that again.

It is. I just did the mission first go using a faggio. I tootled around after it for a while listening to the jazz station. It was all very relaxing. Eventually the car slowed to a stop outside the police station (where I guess it always stops). Pop pop, mission done.

And you cracked the Faggio shortage, double congratulations! It's a weak mission, though, because if you fluff it first time you naturally assume a faster car is the key, but that just leads to the ridiculous glued-to-the-road Automan-style performance of the target car. I've no idea why Rockstar are smart enough to create this absorbing, liberating world and at the same time dumb enough to screw it up with missions that throw the game's core values out of the window.

I've finished the story!

Now I'm a bit confused about whether you can get 100% with all this branching that happens at the end. I guess finishing the story must count as "all" story missions. But it still means there's one entirely unique mission, and a fairly different finale mission, depending on the branch you choose. I'm wondering how that works in the 100%.
