I picked up Tennis Elbow 2013 when it was on sale last week

This has been on my Steam Wishlist for almost 12 months. I keep seeing it for £11 or £12 but just can't bring myself to buy it.

I'm sure I read somewhere that there's going to be a new version coming out next year, so don't know whether to just wait and see what that's like or just see how much it is in the upcoming sale.

I've heard nothing but good things about the simulation but the GUI is a bit dated.

I checked out The Solus Project on the Rift last night, funnily enough. The Rift implementation is still work in progress, which is good because the controller support is really weird right now. Once I got used to that though it was certainly intriguing, and my eventual death at the hands of some particularly terrifying weather was quite cool. I also liked what seems to be a more relaxed take on survival, so you don't need to eat and drink every five minutes.

There's room scale Vive support in progress too, complete with teleportation from the start.

I've just given Solus a proper go, and I've fixed the pad controls too. It turns out that "seperate movement/rotation" isn't what I thought it was! Anyway, aside from being one of the best VR experiences I've had so far I've been really enjoying it. It's very directed so far, although you can turn objective markers off if you want and it would probably be a better experience, but even with them on there's a tremendous sense of discovery. Survival is a factor, but like I thought it's very relaxed compared to most examples of the genre. It's really an exploration game where you have to be mindful of the environment and your supplies.

That said, unlike other survival games I can't see this offering much for repeat plays once you finish it, as there's no sandbox mode and the survival mechanics aren't that involved. That's fine by me though.

For a tenner's worth of what appear to be uninspiring at best games you're going waste a lot of time even in the hope of breaking even (some have cards, some don't). If there is a hidden gem in there you'd probably lose the will to live trying to find it, and given you can pick up genuinely brilliant games for peanuts then unless you like the experience of scrabbling through stuff like this it's a bit of a waste of time for many. In a way it's a shame that games have become so devalued, I wonder how many games of this ilk actually get properly played rather than just farmed for cards?

They look terrible so I wouldn't bother but sometimes I pick up humble or other bundles and I've used idlemaster for the games I don't play to just have the cards sorted and sold - made around £60 steam credit maybe and I've never seen what those games have even looked like (apart from the actual games I wanted to play). Just had the cards pop up while browsing/watching youtube/movies doing other stuff. It's stupid not to get the cards - they get you free games from the next steam sale.

No idea about much of that either, except Psychonauts, which is absolutely fantastic, and more than worth trying out if you have just a slight interest in 3d platformers and/or crazy humor (or milkmen).
