Hi everyone, just a quick reminder that the RLLMUK favourite albums poll runs until 31 December - you can post your list here:

https://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/324427-rllmuks-favourite-albums-of-2021-list-thread-open-until-31-december/

Every vote for a new or reissued 2021 album counts, even if you've just got one album you really liked this year!

They were definitely a must have item around that time.

They also played this one as well. Which I loved. I knew somebody had posted it on here as I downloaded into my RLLMUK folder onto my phone. Which Hip Hop track basically ripped the breakdown from this?

That’s enough for anyone really.

Some crossover with Life is a Dance too as Dancin’ Danny D mans the boards on a track. If feel like I’ve got a decent handle on early-90s garage and I’ve never even heard of the bloke outside of the context of these albums.

I own two copies of the Chaka album as insurance, I would be bereft if anything happened to it.

Yes, Danny D mines a very particular furrow. Have you never heard D-Mob & Cathy Dennis’ C’Mon & Get My Love then? It’s still a classic I think, pop house production that is ultra slick while sounding like it cost ten pence, and I can never get enough of her voice:

Ohh, what's this? I love Teena Marie.

John Morales did a double remix album, it’s lush! Have a listen to this, if you can accept what he’s doing here (and I think it took me a while to really decide I did with this one) you’ll like the whole thing really:

Yes, that’s the best Shalamar song. Quite aside from the irresistible groove and strings the finance-themed lyrics are perfection throughout:

’Cause we built a strong love affair
On investments of equal share
Two hearts that beat as one
Just look what love has done’
