That Marta Acuna track is a vocal version of Universal Robot Band’s ‘Thyme’ which is worth checking out too. Think Marta definitely improves it though.

That’s a killer Kool & The Gang track. Had this album on the other day which is great from back to front. This is a stand out.

That is a smooth, smooth track. A slightly different sound with the addition of the female vocals. But it's got such a dreamy quality. Yes, that's a great album, I think I am going to give it a listen in full right now.

Having now listened to Marta Acuna - Dance Dance Dance, I know it and have heard it before (hadn't heard Thyme though, so thanks for the heads-up on that one). But when I saw it posted the other week, it was this that popped in my head.

Alexis Laik - Danse Danse Danse

It’s on a Larry Levan live at the Paradise Garage mix that was posted a few pages ago that’s well worth a listen if you’ve not heard it. It’s such a brilliant track that has been criminally ruined in the public consciousness by that awful Sophie Ellis Bextor cover! Can’t knock Cher for that outfit too.

I completely love that song. The whole album is great too. I lifted the intro for a tune I made but spent so long trying to bury it it maybe wasn't worth it!

I'd always focused on You Used to Hold Me So Tight I'd completely ignored this track from the same LP. A Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis masterclass.

And speaking of Kool & The Gang, on the off chance anyone doesn’t know already, the Live version of Summer Madness is one of those rare exceptions when the live version is even better than the studio version...

Any other album? Or any other Marvin album? I haven’t listened to it in some time. Time to revisit perhaps. I do remember the deluxe reissue had some excellent bonus material on.

I think the bonus material is actually better than the album. It features a lot more of Dennis Coffey's incredible guitar playing for one thing.

I Wanna Be Where You Are appears unedited too which is worth the admission fee alone. I bet Leon Ware wished he'd have kept it to himself though, the writing on it is a once in a lifetime creative streak. Until he did it again on Musical Massage of course. A twice in a lifetime streak. They're definitely companion albums in my opinion.
