Thread needs some old school Detroit.

Great track indeed. It's sad really that most 'big room' house still sounds like this. Aside from a few sub-genres, dance music is moving at a slug's pace in general.

In other news, Lemon Interupt's 'Bigmouth' is being used for Sky's winter sports campaign. Best use of a harmonica in a house record? I think so.

so these are the tunes i love from the ridge 7 soundtrack... a few of them finish just as they're warming up really which is a bit sad but apart from that there's some lovely music in there. sure you'll find a few that you like, certianly kicks the arse off the previous soundtracks as it's less 'ridge' in style.

2 parts, both rar'd for ease...

part 2 (85 mb): http://www.zshare.net/download/ridge-racer-7-2-rar.html

Has anybody (Art) heard any of the Soul Heaven mix albums? HMV have most of them for £6-10 at the moment, which doesn't seem too bad for 3 discs. I just don't want anymore of that dull, by numbers vocal house crap. The MAW release in particular I thought should be alright. Details

The only Defected MAW mix I have is this one. It basically sums up a Masters at Work set - 35 minutes of tedious afro beats and woodwind wankery, then a 30 minute section of amazing anthem heavy classic house music all thrown in at once. Judging from that tracklist I'd imagine much of the same. The extra CD you get of rare, unreleased tracks is lovely though.

If the In The House compliations are included, I'd go for the Kenny Dope mix and only possibly the Joey Negro mix. I say that with a bit of reserve because it's no-where near as good as his Southport Weekender release, and does contain quite a bit of handbag disco house.

I'm a bit of a sucker for the lovely packaging to be honest. There were some others too mixed by Blaze and the like. I don't really know many of the artists featured so it's hard to choose between them. I'll let you know if it's any good, should I get one.

Moving on to more noisy stuff, has anybody heard the bonkers new mix of Klaxons - Golden Skans by SebastiAn? It's a proper fucked up electro synth-a-thon, kinda like JT's My Love but on drugs. http://fluokids.blogspot.com/ have it to download, as well as a nice Erol dub too.

Blimey, I don't know why this hasn't occurred to me before to ask, but you guys could possibly have it. I'm constantly scouring the net for a track called 'The Beat That Shook The World', which would have been knocking around in 94/95 or so. I've no idea who it's by, but I do know that it was a Roger sanchez remix. Does anyone have a copy?

I can't help you with that ZOK, sorry.

I can help you with a fine piece of minimal techno though. This track has all kinds of crazy noises going on, making up some kind of hypnotic machine rhythm. There is a big dirty synth in there too and the bass line is chock full of funk. Awesome!

Wighnomy Brothers - Hankkofloppe

I don't have a copy, but according to Discogs it's by Veronique and was released on the Ear Candy label in 1991.

It's also track six on Veronique's album The Good, The Bad & The Funky, which is available from a few people on Amazon. I've no idea if that's the mix you're looking for, but you never know . . .

Well, I've scavenged enough music from this thread without posting anything in return, so here goes. This got linked on another forum and I'm midway through listening to it now. If you like dirty breaks then this might well be tight up your filthy little alley:

http://www.tonguengroove.co.uk/content/dow...use-darker-mix/

Great timing in posting that. I was listening to some old breakbeat hardcore thinking "why don't they stuff like this anymore?" The breaks here are just the job though, cheers.

So, I've done another one. It's turning into a bit of a hobby, this.

Anyway, as I say each time to the people I force these mixes upon, I think this one is my best one yet. It's certainly the most diverse - happened to come across a nice range of tunes this month, and set myself the challenge of trying to fuse them together.

You can download the mix on SendSpace here - although that may change, as SendSpace seemingly wipes its files every now and again. How dare they.

Hope you enjoy it. You're more than welcome to comment - good or bad.

First time poster in this thread (well this entire forum in fact) so go easy on me

I've finally sorted out some hosting that I've been meaning to do for months and I've re-uploaded my latest trance mix and am making it available to all of you for your listening pleasure!

It starts off with some really nice deep vocally trance and builds into some really energetic, uplifting trance.

This was done in August last year so it's starting to get a bit old now. I've got a new mix in the works although I'm thinking of making it a long 2 hour "download only" mix to launch my website, however first I've gotta start making the website which means I've gotta finish learning Dreamweaver :(

Anyway here's the tracklisting and the download link

V-i-C Presents... A Lesson in Trance (25-08-06)

01) Deepsky Feat Jes Brieden vs Yilmaz Altanhan - Ghost vs Eighties (Armin van Buuren Mashup)

02) Kenneth Thomas Feat Colleen Riley - Ghost In The Machine (Mike Shiver Catching Sun Remix)

03) Luminary - Amsterdam (Smith and Pledger Remix)

04) Smith and Pledger - White

05) Miguel Sassot - Empty (Aly and Fila Remix)

06) Ronski Speed & Sebastian Sand - Sole Survivor (Ronski Speed Mix)

07) O'Callaghan and Kearney - Exactly (Original Mix)

08) Armin van Buuren - Sail (Carl B's Without Hope Remix)

09) Sami Saari - Cherish (Original Mix)

10) Krivi - Dancing Town (Icone Remix)

11) Beam - On Your Mind (Sean Tyas Hard Dub Remix)

12) Lee Haslam - The Future

13) Dogzilla - Without You (Original Mix)

Also if there's any demand I also have a really filthy hard house mix that I did last year that I'm going to be uploading. We're talking 150-160bpm Paul Glazby/JP & Jukesy hard house here but if anyone likes it a tad harder, just let me know and I'll provide linkage :D
