PGR 4

Someone should set up a new PGR4 Revival thread online. Im excited.

So am I! Too bad I'm still too busy this week and the next, but I'll join in the fun for sure right after Christmas.

And I have to add some of your gamertags, too. I've only got Rorsach at the moment.

Definitely up for some races later in the week. If there is a choice, I'd prefer the slightly slower cars as I am not a fan of the fastest ones and that "not quite in control" feeling you get.

Just like a I said before: I think races with class C, D and E cars are the best in terms of competitiveness. Preferably with own liveries!

Those crackle and pops noises are really irritating during the race. Perhaps because i use headphones, but it completely takes me out of the action.

That's fair, yeah. I had headphones on before I even noticed, I had thought it was just a particularly filthy sounding engine prior to that.

I'll need to give this M3 a go I think, didn't use that many different cars as I recall. I remember the Gallardo being a favourite, so easy to drive.

That was the first time I'd ever played bulldog, I was in mortal fear that I'd start the fox in the Minis and we'd still be playing now. As it was I was chased for a full three minutes or so by the non-Meerman Dutchie in an hilarious icy slow speed chase with both of us misjudjing every single handbrake turn we tried.

I see the mighty Finns are down to 9th now

Me and Swalllow were chattin' on Live earlier, With PGR5 being months if not years away this needs another big update. A nice big car pack, maybe with stuff like the new E92 M3, 911GT2,Nissan GTR, EVO X And new Impreza, few new Bikes like maybe a Ducatti 1098 Tricolor and maybe 5 or 6 new tracks. Stick it up for say 600/800 points and bobs your uncle, another year of fun.

NEVER! I just realized there aren't any Nissans in this game, at all. Which is good, as the hype around the GT-R is WAY too much - it dominates every race in GT5P!

The 911 GT2 is unlikely because of licensing issues (EA has the privilege, although Forza 2 managed to have Porsches too). Instead, I'd prefer to see some more 'less than supercars': cars below the Supra and the RX-7, but not as old as most vehicles in the F and G classes (never mind the MX-5), like the Toyota MR-S (it was brilliant in MSR!) and the new VW Scirocco.

Loads of awesome super mini/hot hatches you could use. Megane R26R, Focus RS, Arbath 500, Mini Cooper S JCW

I Agree completey about GT5P being one big advert for the GTR. For shame.

And I had forgot completey about the whole Porsche thing, shame as I loved the Carrera GT in PGR2.

Had a cracking race round the ring last night, was just me and a random guy on the ranked matches and I was in the Subaru and he was in the Audi A4 and he got ahead a few corners in before losing it and ending up sideways right on the racing line as I came round the corner, I ended up smashing into the side of him and spinning off myself. He pulled over and let me take the lead before one of the closest races of my life, ending in me messing up the 3rd from last corner and him taking the the win. Brilliant race!

Audi A4

wat?

the problem with introducing slower cars into PGR4 is that the handling engine is tuned for the supercar stuff. it's nowhere near as bad as PGR3 but most of the slower cars are still ridiculously easy to keep pointed in the right direction, when anyone who has ever driven even a modestly powered FR motor in real life will have scared themselves at least once.

the E30 M3 is great, but still not much of a handful, when the real life version is fairly savage and will swap ends in a heartbeat.

i stuck it back on for the first time in about a year last night and spent 3 hours unlocking the last few things. i had forgotten how good a game it was but had also forgotten how disappointingly predictable some of the muscle cars are to drive. the Saleen 281E was far better than i remembered it being though. serious arse-out action.

I don't understand what you mean by "wat?" as I said we were playing singe player ranked events and they choose the class for you. As mentioned before in this thread the lower class cars are a lot of fun as the racing is generally much tighter.

I got this about 6 months ago for pennies and played it for about an hour and turned it off. I loved PGR2 and had loads of friends on Live at the time that played it, as you say the community for that game was fantastic. I remember playing it all through the summer back then, was such a laugh. Need to get that again with PGR4 so gonna put it on again I think.

I found that even though I have the wheel for PS3 and 360, I can't enjoy games as much when using it. I need to relax and sit back with the pad in my hand to enjoy as I think most people will use the pad when playing online too?
