(Seeing as nobody has mentioned it) I'm guessing they haven't changed any of the menus yet to let you use the PS4 touchpad?

Nope, though they did say platform-specific features may be missing from the beta, which is par for the course. I'm hoping they add Vita touchscreen control for the interface, and I can just tappy tap tap my way to a perfect loadout.

Well, considering. I wouldn't go on Strikes or Crucible on it (the sticks just aren't quite up to the accuracy you need for high-level play) but you can grind the Exploration missions on it without any trouble. Really good Vita control layout too.

I didn't think it worked that well; the rear touchpad is as iffy as ever, and having to press the "down" button to sprint whilst pushing the left stick forward is a nice idea that's fiddly in practice. The crazy-twitchy sticks aren't that nice to use either.

Is anything working currently?

I spent most of Saturday downloading 13 gigs and then run out of time to try it as it took ALL FUCKING DAY. I tried again on Sunday eve and the PSN was fucked.

The only comment I have so far is...why don't all games boot up and into the start screen in under 15 seconds like this? Its time to stop being pushed endless splash screens of "Scaleform" this and "Unreal Engine" that, stop messing and load the bastard!!

Had exactly the same experience - tried couple of times Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. didn't get in once.. :(

I never use the rear touchpad in Destiny remote play. The buttons are mapped to the left and right sides of the touchscreen.

Pro-tip for creating new characters: in case you didn't know, you can dump any gear into storage from an existing character, and use it with other, less travelled characters.

I was hoping that would work. I've got some sweet high level Warlock gear I can swap onto a new build.

I think at first Bungie said nothing would carry over, you do get an exclusive beta tester emblem in the full game if you play on final day the of beta - July 26th

Though I think now they're saying "we haven't made any final decisions about transferring content".

Personally I'd be surprised if they let you transfer a load of higher level gear you've stockpiled during beta, they may let you carry over stuff your lvl 8 guardian has equiped but dunno

<entitlement mode> I'm a little peeved that I won't get a beta tester emblem. I'm away from tomorrow until the end of the beta. I poured a solid amount of time into the beta but I'll receive no emblem </entitlement mode>

It is a good ploy on their point to give the servers a proper last minute stress test by saying that everyone must try to be online within a certain time window to receive the "permanent rewards" though.

Great to see Bungie making a real effort across all formats. Only version left to be unveiled now is the 360, but I can't see them messing that up considering their history with the machine.

Why is there no PC version though?
