Destiny: FIN

Had a great session just doing miscellaneous fetch or explore type missions from the green markers. Also a couple of public events, Helped defeat a tank, then a level 8 captain appeared with a yellow shield and I wasn't going to make a scratch on him so bailed to see if my loot is any good.

This is totally Halo crossed with Defiance and Mass Effect, so it's not surprising I like it!

It's a bit odd though that all the background info etc has to be accessed separately eg via the app or the Bungie website, unless I'm missing something obvious.

Oh my oh my. Just been playing on this for the last 2 hours on the bone. It is incredible!

Looks utterly stunning and with nary a hint of tearing or a frame drop in sight, puts Titanfall to shame! The lighting alone is mind blowing, scared myself with my own shadow at one point! There are some little details that are lovely too, for example in the tower hub there is a little puddle of water out front, this seems to perfectly reflect everything around it, including other players, even looks realistic when you make ripples in it! And considering that they are supposedly using the extra grunt to up the res in the final release it's only going to get better! This is the first game that I've played that really does feel next gen.

Finding the gun play really satisfying too, very Haloesque which I like, and liking the whole addition of abilities as you level up. Loving the ground smash!

The story seems interesting enough, although you can tell it's from the minds behind Halo. Also has a touch of a Mass Effect vibe when in the central area (which is no bad thing).

Currently I've only played it on my own, although it's nice to see other players (if a little weird) playing in the same area as you, with their own objectives etc. Hopefully I'll be on later tonight and will actually team up with some people. This had kind of passed me by, but I'm definite day one now.

Basically love it!

Turns out it (the loot) half is - a blueprint for level 6 scout rifle weapon which will also reduce grenade warm up time. I like the RPG elements of choosing your gear to develop a special play style.

I also love the cool crisp interface on the character screen.

Just turn on console, then once it's loaded, just bring up the guide and go left for Active Downloads.

Well, it isn't me (honest). I got my mrs to switch the console on and check the guide for active downloads, but she's saying nothing's there. Might it take a few minutes to show?

I just wanted it ready to go when I got home.

It will be there if you linked that 360 to your account (with the serial number) on xbox.com unless it does that automatically these days although your post sounds like it doesn't.

She could go to account management and grab it from your transaction list

Owing to some random chance I seem to have been given access to the Destiny Beta meaning the code I was gifted from a mate is now available should anyone want it (Xb1):

played a bit now...

I saw it on videos but why did they move the motion tracker? and why can't I play bumper jumper?

I know it's not halo but still for 10 years they had the motion tracker bottom left

Love it though and funnily enough for me since I always played multi player in halo, the single player is the biggest pull... so far

So I found a secret bit which I have NO idea how to conquer. I found it on the second level (the first one you actually properly select):

There's a shack a little to the left after you start. If you head down there and past the map room, you can go down some more stairs and into a darkened area. Pushing through there reveals a new room to the left, which has three enemies that have gold names and ?? instead of their level number. They are hard as nails with one-shot kills. If I shoot them, it does no damage! Rather, it comes up 'immune' instead of the damage points like usual.

How to kill?!

Anyone from the PS4/PS3 beta have any ideas?
