You have Glide, right? Just double tap jump and you'll go up pretty high; don't wait for the highest point of your initial jump as your magical jetpack takes a moment to kick in.

I've read a lot of hate for glide, with people preferring the more predictable double jump etc, but I really like it. Adds to the whole space-wizard image I feel.

Definitely using Warlock in September

I'm interested to see how its potential replacement, Blink, functions. If it isn't too unwieldy then a short-range teleport could be really useful.

As for Glide itself, the other Warlock Focus has an ability which allows you to temporarily suspend in the air when aiming down your sights. If it lasts a few seconds, and your aim stabilises, I could really see Glide coming into its own.

Do we know how the sub-classes work yet, do they have their own upgrade path and a different set of skills?

You can view them in the Beta. Just press Triangle/Y on the other Focus in the top-left of your equipment sheet.

Yeah definitely, just seen those two options. They could be awesome!

August is going to be one long month :(

Lovely game.

I did the Last Array story mission of the beta alone on Very Hard (I was level 5, the enemies were all 8), and it was very hard. It took ages and I died 15 or so times.

The battle at the end (with hundreds of the fuckers that rush you) was only really possible by using an exploit I found. If you back away enough the rushers don't follow you. So you can fight them while moving backwards, and if you time it right they stop at this invisible line on the ground and run away from you again.

How does the difficulty select work? I click on the difficulty button on the destination select screen, and I just get two options - both green, and both labelled as normal (although one is level 2, and the other is level 5).

Does it just rate each difficulty according to your level?

That sounds like a good way of wasting the weekend. How do I join in though?

Further to this, if you search for "destiny beta" on the PS3 store it'll be there to download.

Pretty much. I'm hoping they add some much higher level modifiers in the final one, so you can go back and attempt early missions at Level 8 against Level 20 guys and such.

It's just two difficulty choice with the enemies at one level and another with them at a higher level. If you go back and play it when you're at a higher level then both then they are both marked as green as either way they'll be "easy" for you.If you choose "hard" the first time through the enemies will be at a higher level than you and it will be marked yellow. I really don't recommend doing this though as while the normal enemies are perhaps entertainingly difficult, the bosses just turn into insane bullet-sponges and basically chores to kill.

I won't be selecting Very Hard again in a hurry. It didn't make it more fun, just more easy to die randomly. Enemy snipers could kill in one shot if damaged at all, and those invisible blade guys just meant instadeath if you didn't know where they were going to spawn and have a rocket ready for them.

Breezing through on normal (which isn't "easy" like Halo's normal anyway) is more fun IMO.

How do rewards in Crucible work? Is it completely random or is there a system active I do not know about? It seems random.

edit: I absolutely love Crucible. I truly hope they keep it transparant and avoid the usual "invisible-sniper enemy-looks-like-your-team-mate shotgun-fella-has-a-ton-of-armor" nonsense.

Think they are totally random, which I suppose atleast ensures that everyone gets a fair chance of getting something, and not just the pro-players.

Like you though I'm finding myself loving Crucible much more than I expected. Its basically got the reward system of World of Warcraft PvP but in the form of an extremely accessible online shooter.

I had my first go of this tonight on the PS4. It's rather nice isn't it? Very, very pretty. I think I'll play at 9pm tomorrow night to get my free gift and then leave it until the launch so it's all new.
