I seriously cant see why I should stay resto after the patch's healing nerf. I cant cast channeled spells, HoT's or anything like that so dont benefit from the apparent increase to those types of spells, and now not being able to downrank means I'll have to use full rank heals which means I'll go oom faster than an moonkin spec druid chain casting

Just finished downloading the client, and I transferred my Shaman and Paladin earlier. I think its 3 or 4 days wait time though on the transfer

Forgive my ignorance - I'm not very good with healing - but doesn't the stacking of HoTs now mean that you guys don't need to heal nearly so frequently? So can't you cast fewer (but bigger) heals, and retain mana equally well (or even better) as a result? Seems to me that the HoTs will be used to bridge the 'gaps'.

I bloody hope so, otherwise god help us. Patchwerk healing is a pain in the arse as it is mana wise. I dread to think of it with full ranks but still casting as I do now

You can still downrank a little, it doesn't really affect things until you start using really out of date heals I think.

I think resto for Shaman will be much better than before.

Also - if you find yourself out of mana, then it just means you'll have to heal in groups and then regen, a pain to adapt to again of course, but it's a mixed bag all in all.

Someone worked out that there are about 5 raiding weeks left before BC (including thanksgiving holiday though lol) and I think raiding will sort of fizzle out post 1.13.

But who knows eh?

Got the client, downloaded the update and all that jazz but now it's apparently a 3 day wait to transfer my characters :<

Made a lvl 1 Dwarf and Orc to have a nose about. You can see the new Cities and areas on the map, but the obvious lvl restrictions stop me checking to see if I can actually go there

Seen a few 60's, including a druid with 7/9 tier 3 (missing the helm, oddly) who changed into the treant form, another 60 druid that summoned 3 treant protectors, and a few 60 Paladins who showed off the new spell effects on blessings and judgements which looked wicked to say the least. All these were on Alliance, on Horde Orgrimmar had only a few lvl 60's and they werent doing a lot, boring gits.

Cant wait till my 2 60's get on there (transferred em both last night). Want to try out elemental and enhancement on Shaman, and Crusader Strike on Paladin.

I kept getting that last night, along with "Sorry, too busy" at various steps of the process. I am getting it this morning too.

The demand on our character copy system is extremely high right now and due to this players may run into errors while attempting to use the character copy system. We are currently working to resolve the issues causing these errors; however currently we can only recommend that you attempt to copy your characters at a later time as we do not have an estimate available as to when we be able to resolve these issues.

Some notes from someone who managed to get a PTR to work for him:

"- Caverns of Time. It's open, there's bronze Drakonids, blood elf children dragons, and transgendered orcs. You can get the "Keepers of Time" faction on your rep bar but not the "Shards of the Scale" one. Since you can't get to level 66, however, there's nothing to do here but sightsee.

- Dark Portal. There's a totally empty encampment around it and a path hewn down the middle of the rise that used to surround it. Not much else. Didn't see if Regular Kazzak was still up. Considering the general level of up time for PTRs I doubt anyone will know.

- Karazhan. You can get the "Violet Eye" faction to appear on your faction bar. There are three Violet Eye NPCs outside, one of whom I believe gives the key quest, but again, we're too low level so there's not much to do here but get ganked by level 69 ghosts. I'm considering trying to get people to 5 man them. As far as I can tell they're the only mobs in the game above level 63 currently. Maybe they drop some nice BoEs...

- Draenei. You get your Draenei bar set to friendly by default.

- Some new low level quests. There are, for instance, two draenei quests in the Swamp of Sorrows which give full rep to a level 60 player (!!?!?!). I am sure there are new quests elsewhere too.

- Full rep given for every quest. Following this, I went and did a quest in Teldrassil (Dreamcatcher) and got 165 rep for it. At level 60. I'm not sure if this is more than it usually gives at a low level (probably not, since it's so easy to get to honoured usually) but I feel annoyed that I did a couple low level quests here and there over the last two years...

- New Bank slot for 25g, and 4 new free slots in the main bank bit.

- I haven't seen what new items can go in the keyring, but mallet of zul'farrak, scepter of celebras, Ony key, UBRS key all cannot. I am suspicious that they are just allowing "consumable" keys (BRD keys etc) into the keyring but I have not seen. My keyring also got a base upgrade to 16 slots (still only using .

- The new 60+ skills are at your class trainer but you obviously can't train them because you aren't 70 yet.

- Nothing really interesting in the new honour system. There's buyable gems (that cost as much as FM/Warlord gear... each) but nothing to socket them into. The nice level 70 necklaces are there, but of course...

- The boat to Exodar is in. It ports you to a GY if you take it though. Strangely, it's a night elf boat, but the one to Darnassus is still human.

- Quest log is expanded to 25 (just expand it to 50! Sure, I only have 6 quests on my main, but still...)

So then, what is there for me to do?

This is the question I always ask when a new patch comes out. I was disappointed with 1.12 for this reason (great, I can grind honour and BG rep... slightly faster). Sadly, for a content patch, there's not overly much content of use to a level 60 player. You can do some low level quests for rep, get two new neutral factions to show on your bar (for the completionists =)), explore some new places (barely), but there's no new high level content, no new tradeskill recipes, no new faction grinds, even (how sad am I that I long for a good old fashioned faction grind? I guess it's back to getting Shen'dralar to friendly...). I'm kind of annoyed that these anaemic patches get called "content patches" when there's no content."

I know this is not replying to anyone here but I'm really looking forward to having the new trees (look at that pun oh my sides) that's a content update for me. Doing the existing raids with such drasticly new talents is going to be fun I think, and I'm glad we get a chance to do it when there's still something of a point to raiding rather than when everyone's too busy killing shit in outland to try out stuff in Black Qirajamas.

Had a pally crit me with CS for 1700, had an oomkind 2k starfire me.

i saw 10000000 BW Nelf hunters, lots of 41 fire mages (the new attack looks amazing tbh)

I just got back from test realming it up.

Cloak of Shadows is zomg (PTR build is currently an old one with CoS as the 41pt subtlety talent; presumably it'll be updated at some point to have shadow step there). Not having it until 66 on the live realms is really, really going to suck. Also, the "hunter" itemisation changes are brilliant. Gained 29 AP just from copying over. Then sent it to truly ridiculous levels when i specced 41 sub (+10% AP and +15% agi = 1177 unbuffed AP with nearly 30% crit )

things ive concluded. fighitng dual weilding shaman makes me CRY.

shadowpriests are a little better in PVE now and that vampiric 41pt tallent is crazy for single target DPS.

SWP was ticking for about 300, devouring plague for another 270ish, vampiric thingy for another few hundred and mindflay for about 300. the speed things die is insane.

I've not tried my Shaman yet (Crusader Strike Zomg!), but in what way do they make you cry? Please say that dual wield is imba in PvP!
